Of course he should. But I'm saying that because I'm 100% sure he will reveal classified info and I hope the Justice Department is ready to prosecute him.

I'm joking. But it's going to be hard not give him briefings. But I also think the CIA will be keeping an eye on him.

  1. Never heard that.
  2. It makes no sense.
Is it for a limited time frame - while his institutional knowledge may still be relevant to the issues at hand, and he could help cooperate on them? Haha... There is no intelligence in Trump, the briefings he were given were described like a child's coloring book. And he would be opposed to any effort made by the next President and only act in his own interest, which may be to undermine said efforts. So !@#$ him, he serves no purpose in this context.

it's somewhat traditional, as outgoing presidents could offer advice to incoming ones based on their experience in the office.

but trump is in a unique position in that he is a national security risk. i can't find article that discusses this history unfortunately.

The practice reminds ex-Presidents to not reveal classified info when reminiscing about their time in office.

He should not get them imho, but he will. Whether it's a dumbed down version or he'll even accept them at all is likely the issue.

It also provides an opportunity to feed subtle disinformation to the opposition.
Plant intentional mis-information where his briefings are the only source. If the information gets out immediately arrest Trump for treason

Even if he does receive some intelligence, he will, by design, be limited by what is available to him because he has so much "property" in various countries and it would be a serious conflict of interest.

Hopefully he will be tried for all the crimes that supposedly he wasnt able to be tried for when he was a sitting president. if convicts in many states cant even vote, then no, i dont think any convict should be able to get secret or classifed information, even if they are illiterate.

National Security Reports will be presented to Binden in words and paragraphs, letting Trump have a copy will be like giving them to a toddler who also can't read or comprehend anything without pictures and drawings.

After reading a bunch of articles (with none linking any official document), I'm inclined to think that this Quora answer is closets to the truth:

Do former presidents get security briefings? said:
Yes, though they do not get the presidential daily briefing (PDB) nor are they allowed to view or be briefed on "presidential eyes only" documents.

Instead they receive intelligence briefings periodically sufficient to an extent that they can, should circumstances dictate, assist the government in a time of crisis.

Their security status is similar to upper level cabinet members though they are not inundated with intelligence minunate to the same degree, and they no doubt are kept out of "the loop" in regards to much of the more sensitive or closely held information.

Their degree of participation in this regard is optional on their part and some former presidents choose to be briefed more often than others.

I suspect Trump won't care - and wouldn't be surprised if these briefings were even less specific than normal. He will get them, because Biden doesn't tend to be punitive, and who needs the noise of Trump claiming that he is being treated unfairly.

They could just start handing him Denny's kids menus which, from what is now well known, is basically what they had to turn the security briefings into in the hopes of grabbing at least 15 seconds of his attention. He would never know the difference

....no, that isn't hyperbole. it is literally true.

Oh, poll fails by not having an opt out choice (for example, "I like green eggs and ham") :p

If he can pass a legit background check, then sure; since he'll no longer be president he shouldn't get a pass on that. I'd say it should be a trimmed down version of what the president gets.

That said, I doubt a background check wouldn't find him to be a security risk.

Hopefully, he will be behind bars. I can't imagine him being given those security briefing through those bars.

Honestly, I can't imagine him showing up at those reunions of past presidents. I think he'll do us all a favor and die soon, frankly.
Hopefully he will be tried for all the crimes that supposedly he wasnt able to be tried for when he was a sitting president. if convicts in many states cant even vote, then no, i dont think any convict should be able to get secret or classifed information, even if they are illiterate.
I rest my case.

Well, he didn't read them while he was in office right, so does it matter either way?
Well, he'll need a special SS agent tail to make sure the discarded documents find their way into a sanctioned shredder.
