POLL: Should I tell on the squatter? *UPDATE*

I don't have a pic but my apartment complex consists of several large buildings. Each has a small 4-car garage. Hidden mostly behind one of these for the past two days is somebody who has taken it upon themselves to park their trailer there. They are patched into the water/power at my building. Now I cannot imagine they have permission to do this because we aren't even allowed to repair cars on the premises or anything like that, plus it's a nice apartment complex.

This guy is costing me nothing since I pay a set water bill and it will just cost the building power. He's had two nights. When I drive up to my building I have to admit it makes me feel partially like I live in a slum since a slummy person is there. It's really quite an interesting site. I wonder if they know, but he is still there.

*UPDATE* The guy is still there today. I just drove by the laundry area though and he's there in his truck with some other workers - so I figured out the fact that he is one of the people refurnishing the gym for the complex, so I guess he was given permission afterall!

Skoorb, you really ought to tattle on him.
Truth be told, I wouldn't be too happy if it was me hijacking the power.
After all, he could get in some serious trouble.
But it was his choice to be a no-good squatter taking up the land space & leeching hydro.

Haul ass down to your landlord and let him know.
If you're concerned about retalition, leave an anonymous tip under the door.
Maybe this will get them moving on that guy below you with the BBQ.

He's still there. I'm gonna call them now and ask if they know the guy is there. They'll probably go "OH my god no the world is about to end i'll call the FBI!" And he'll be there still tomorrow but maybe not. I can see a real fine on this, especially since htey can catch him red handed plugged in. I can't imagine what he's thinking. It's POSSIBLE that he has permission, but highly highly unlikely.

I called. I asked if she knew and mentinoed that he was plugged into the building and she said "Well I didn't...but maybe...I'll check on it ok? Thank you!" and that was that.

Sorry, but you pay rent... he doesn't. He shouldn't get to use the utilities for free anymore than you should.

She called and left a message appologizing (the manager) and that I should feel free to call the fire department next time because they are not always around.

He hasn't done it since but next time I'm gonna call the fire department!

Actually some of the irony here is that his trailer is in the way of where I like to change oil. And that's not allowed either. SO really I'm telling on this guy so that I can then do something against the rules too. I suppose the big diff is I pay for it so screw em!

I don't think you can call the Fire Department because someone is BBQing and you don't like the smell.

It does when your apartment is a chimeny - it's also illegal here so you can actually call the fire department
