I've been thinking of shaving my head for sometime now but I just wanted some opinions before I do it.

ps. It will not effect my job because I work from home so I can do what I want.

Cheers,

Oh, then you GOTTA get the big gold hoop earrings and let people rub your belly for good luck then. ;)

Most Chinese guys I know look OK with shaved heads. You have to make sure that your head is "normally" shaped under the hair, a couple friends shaved their heads and were surprised to find that they looked like alien babies afterwards.

The beauty of the Internet is that we get to influence some stranger to do something silly by clicking a button! Hehe...;)

Aquaman:

GO for it. I shave my head about once a month or so... it actually grows back (well, not like long-hair-back, but not-bald-back) in no time, so if you don't like it, you just don't do it again. Try it. :)

I didnt look right with my shaved head but i like it alot, its been a year since my last shave and my hair is back down to my shoulders.

Shaved head is very comfortable, Easy management.

How long is your hair now?

If its long shave it all but the back and braid it, thats an awesome look.

I shaved my head all through college due to the lice scare.... haha just kidding about the lice, but it was awesome not having to pay for a barber to do it... i did it myself and it felt good... it looked good, but now im in the corporate world and a shaved head wouldnt be the right choice... so i keep it nice and short....

i say go for it. i loved mine.

I am in the corporate world and I shave my head. I get several compliments on it! I have now let it grow back, for the winter season, but spring is here! I think it looks cleaner, like having a fresh hair cut daily. I thought it would be lower maintenance than having hair but its not! Now I need to shave it at least every other day. Put lotion on it daily. I do agree, that some people look like alians with there head shaved. I also agree that you have to have the right shape of a head. Bigger guys seem to look pretty good with the "Telly" look. I have also found that the women love it.

<not having to pay for a barber>

That's exactly why I do it. My hair is short enough that I refuse to 1) make an appointment and 2) shell out $20.00 just for somebody to trim it. I bought my first home-haircut thingie, and ever since I've had little-to-no hair. It's more comfortable, and loads easier to care for, and I pay nobody :p

I guess that's true - the thing I do is that I don't shave it every day - only like once a month or so, or once every few weeks. Right now I have about a quarter-inch of hair... I'll prolly shave again this weekend. Maybe it'd be easier if I did it every day... maybe I'll try that.

Shave it.

I set my clippers to the lowest setting and cut away. I never let my hair grow out past a 1/4 inch. I end up shaving once every 3 weeks.

Thats what I do too. The skin bald shave is a little too much, but a buzz looks great!!!!!

funny...i was just considering the same thing myself. i've shaved my head before and it was just the most comfortable feeling. not to mention the side benefits...faster showers, saving $ on shampoo, etc.

plus there's just something about a shaved head...the girls just couldn't resist coming up to me and rubbing it. ;)
