Poll: Should I sell My All-in-Wonder 9700 Pro for a (Non-AIW) 9600 Pro?

I've had my All-in-Wonder 9700 Pro for a week and a half or so now. I have yet to use the remote, I have't connected the TV Tuner in yet because I don't watch much TV. Gaming-wise, I play Call of Duty, Rise of Nations, and Battlefield 1942, I think they look fine even if I dropped the resolution a bit from 1600x1200 at which I run them with my 9700 Pro. I'm really not a huge gamer, I play only a few hours a week.

The only thing that really makes me hesitate is that I want to digitize a bunch of home videos and VHS movies, so I don't know what I should do. Maybe I should find a friend with an AIW and use it for the digitizing?

Are there any great uses to the All-In-Wonder I'm missing out on?

Opinions/suggestions?

Why would you want to replace what you have with something a good deal slower?

Whats with the dorky poll choices? Why did you even get the AIW 9700pro? Depends on what you sell your AIW for and how much you pay for the 9600pro in the end.

I got the AIW 9700 Pro because I thought I'd make good good use of it and because I got a killer deal on it. With regards to the dorky poll choices I have no idea what you're talking about, they're pretty straight forward apart from the results one which is a standard dummy option for people who don't have an opinion one way or another.

Let me put it this way, I can sell the 9700 Pro for a about $50 more than I paid for it.

The reason I'm considering the 9600 Pro is because
A) It runs cooler, I'm trying to quiet down my PC and the 9700 Pro is dumping a ton of heat into my case
B) From what I understand, for DirectX 9 games memory bandwidth isn't as important as it was up to now because most games are going to be core-bound anyway (and a 9600 Pro with its high clock speed isn't too much slower than the 9700 Pro in that dept.)
C) I'm really not making much use of the AIW functions

That's why I'm considering putting some money in my pocket and selling the 9700 Pro.

The higher core clock doesn't make up for the lack of pipelines in most cases. You can see for yourself in todays benchmarks, the 9600 is simply slower across the board in all but perhaps a few cases. That won't change going forward. Whether its worth it or not, is basically up to you. The AIW9700 should comand a pretty fair resale value, especially if you got a great deal on it. The 9600 pro should be cheap if you shop around. Myself, I'd get one of those Zalman coolers if noise was an issue. Oh, and I'm just getting so tired of the ATI vs NV crap, that I'm overly sensitive to be honest....I'd have just gone with "results" don't mind me:)

Ya, keep the 9700 Pro, no reason to get a slower card, and I would hook up the TV and try it out, plus, the remote is kinda cool

For noise, you could put your computer in a cabinet and close the door.
(Slide the computer back far enough that the CD tray can open with the cabinet door closed.)
(If the cabinet had the back off or a slot on the bottom & top in the back, wires & heat can go in/out.)
Then you could buy components based on price & performance with out haveing to worry about sound.

Just a thought.

Looks like keeping the 9700 Pro wins by a landslide. Now I've got to come up with some good mods to enhance airflow in this computer to get rid of excess heat while keeping the noise levels down. Bitdog, unfortunately, I don't have a cabinet to put my computer in (and if I did, I'd be worried about heat, my P4 and 9700 Pro both put out a TON of heat).
