Doom 3 just nudges out Resident Evil. Simply because Doom3 made me jump a bit more.

Not sure how Half Life 2 is scarier than Doom 3. Just sounds like osme people havn't tried Doom 3.

I didn't get into Doom 3 because I don't like horror games. They make me very paranoid. I however liked HL2 and the only spooky part of that game I though was the part where that one old bald dude stood up on roofs shooting stuff and talking to you from a distance. Just something about Zombies and ghost like demons gives me the creeps.

doom 3 was kind of scary because of the low lighting and all the monster closets

Damn that game had atmosphere. I loved playing as "the bug" with a room full of friends muttering the occasional "...I see you...".
