I'd vote for a democratic candidate if they offered a) a substantial and comprehensive response to terrorism and b) a fiscally responsible agenda

Lieberman probably comes the closest.

Definitely Lieberman.
He seems like a reasonable, intelligent man.
Although I'm rooting for Dean as I'm sure most Republicans are.

I picked Edwards. Kerry used to be my "If I had to" candidate - but Edwards has won me over with his positive stances. Still don't agree with him on issues but his attitude and outlook seem to be the best of the bunch. He's young, exciting, and delivers a strong POSITIVE view of this country's FUTURE. The guy has a pretty well detailed plan for just about all the key issues, so atleast I know what I'd be getting as long as he didn't change his mind about an issue a week like some seem to have done. Yeah - he's a lawyer...but I've gotten over it - lawyers/politicians - they all suck:)

Anyway- I'll take a positive well laid out plan over vengeful inconsistency any day:) Edwards would get my vote if hell froze over.

CkG

Edit - these types of threads really need to have people actually post their vote instead of it being a anon vote, especially since it's supposed to only be for one segment of people.

I'm outta the poll, since I aint nowhere livin' in the US but I'd vote for clinton, lol, but that might just be my skewed european vision, and the man has been there done that, and appearently the system is a one go shot, so he wont be coming back.

anyways, I dont have the inside view, just the vieuw from here, no really good canditates in any political faction from my view tho, no wonder bush is in power, he really hasnt got much of competition.

Do you know anyone who worked for local government under Clinton? My US friends who did don't have a great deal of love for the man!

Cheers,

Andy

Clinton was a menace. When he was in office you could easily be killed if you happened to be standing behind a Republican when his sphincter failed.

clark. he has his election year rhetoric that panders to the liberal gallery, and then there is his actual record of actions and words
in the heat of the moment. he's better than bush in so far as he would not have needed the neo-con intelligentsia to convince him
that u.n.'s paper war vis-a-vis hussein was idiotic from inception.

It simply cracks me up when I hear democrats supporting Clark.

Clark on Reagan:

"We were really helped when President Ronald Reagan came in. I remember non-commissioned officers who were going to retire and they re-enlisted because they believed in President Reagan."

Clark continued: "That's the kind of President Ronald Reagan was. He helped our country win the Cold War. He put it behind us in a way no one ever believed would be possible. He was truly a great American leader. And those of us in the Armed Forces loved him, respected him, and tremendously admired him for his great leadership."

Clark on President George Bush: "President George Bush had the courage and the vision... and we will always be grateful to President George Bush for that tremendous leadership and statesmanship."

Clark on American military involvement overseas:

"Do you ever ask why it is that these people in these other countries can't solve their own problems without the United States sending its troops over there? And do you ever ask why it is the Europeans, the people that make the Mercedes and the BMW's that got so much money can't put some of that money in their own defense programs and they need us to do their defense for them?"

"And I'll tell you what I've learned from Europe is that are a lot of people out in the world who really, really love and admire the United States. Don't you ever believe it when you hear foreign leaders making nasty comments about us. That's them playing to their domestic politics as they misread it. Because when you talk to the people out there, they love us. They love our values. They love what we stand for in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and the Bill of Rights."

Lieberman, even though he is the spearhead of Computer/Video Game censorship. Although I gotta have my games, I do realize that there are more important issues facing the world :D

I voted Lieberman. He seems more levelheaded and realistic as a whole and his stances are rather close to mine and most middle of the road voters. If the dems want to get the true moderates, they would nominate him or somebody close. However, if the dems pick a more liberal candidate, they would most llikely just vote for bush again....

I also went with Edwards. He seems more sincere than the other candidates. The other ones, esp. Dean, change their views based upon what they think will get them more votes. Following a close second to edwards in my view is Lieberman.

Agreed. This is what I don't like about Dean. I'd never vote for someone like that. I think I even pointed it out in one of my posts here. Not 100% sure though. Hell I'd vote for that loony Kucinich over Dean any day, at lest he stands for what he belives in and doesn't change his views on a whim. And we all know that man (Kucinich) is unelectible.

I;'d have to go for dean. He is SOOO far over on th left that none of middle/conservative america will vote for him. If he get's the nomination, it's an guarantee that Bush will be in office for another 4 years.

Well, maybe, but take bush out of the picture all together. If you had to choose one of the above for president, which would you choose.

Clark or Lieberman, they're tied in my mind.
