BEFORE Obamacare was passed did you know that it would make healthcare less affordable for the younger and healthier worker?

Yep. Everyone knew. Its socialized medicine, the young/strong/healthy support the rest.

IIRC, anyone paying any sort of attention to it knew that.

Shrug, I didn't realize it at the time. I might have been preoccupied with my own healthcare costs.

Ha! Ha! Nice troll post

And yes, of course it would be less affordable for those who had no healthcare and paid nothing. Doh!

That's the whole point of insurance, Einstein. Make things less affordable for people when they are lucky so they are more affordable to them when their luck runs out.

Younger healthier worker, as opposed to unemployed young person due to their attending college, or simply young and unemployed? I guess it should be obvious that the employed person who have to take on extra cost for those who can't afford to.

Actually, I'd like to point out that anyone who answers yes to something before "Obamacare" was passed is lying. Remember, the ACA was soooooooooo important that it had to be voted on before anyone got to read it.

Yep, as soon as it became apparent that Congress and Obama had no intention of reforming health care but instead were set on implementing a humongous giant handout to the private insurance industry, I figured out that costs were going to rise for everybody even faster than they were already rising in the pre-ACA world. It didn't take a rocket surgeon to figure that out. Private, employer-based health insurance is trashing the American economy, rendering us unable to compete in the global market place. Until we slay this beast we will continue for export jobs and face a dwindling standard of living. Obama and Congress sold us out to their big medicine campaign contributors.

We might as well merge with Canada - that's where we are heading.
No, Canada has an efficient single payer system. Our politicians refuse to even consider one. They're getting too much money from the medical lobby (there are 15 registered lobbyists representing the medical/insurance industry for each Congress critter). Obamacare took us in a direction opposite of Canada's system.

Good point. But, in my defense, I had to assume that it was a disaster since few facts were available to the general public before it was passed. Congress knew that if John and Jane Doe had any inkling of the cost to the taxpayer this bill would be that this thing would never pass.

Of course. They think they are invulnerable. Not going to get into a car accident. Not going to have to go to the ER for an OD. Not going to get into some JACKASS style accident. So yes. They should be in the pool to pay for the rididulous amount of money they are going to cost the health care system, like the rest of us in the last 2 months of their lives. How else are DR's going to get to play God.

This country is a WE society not a a ME society.

Wow... That is taking a braindead talking point to a new level. All the info was out there. You may not have heard the reality of the bill from the Death Panel republican gang, but the info was right there on the internet.

I loved that fiasco. Chain emails saying stupid shit like it funded abortions with our tax money. Simple scan of the actual legislation showed a clause that specifically barred the use of tax payer money for abortions.

Fucking GOP never met a strawman they didn't like.
