It's pretty much the same thing every month. The pics are usually nice, but they need some variety to the articles.

I just started reading Mens Journal and the writing quality blows away Maxim.

I used to read it, but it gets old FAST.

Something I thought was funny:

I went over to my buddies house and was taking a whiz. On top of the toilet was a stack of Maxim & Stuff. I was flipping through them as I went (look, no hands! ;)), and I noticed that if you stack these sort of magazines with each one exposing about an inch - 2 inches of the one underneath it, you'll notice that every girl on the cover has the exact same pose from the waist down. I thought it was funny, but of course, I was wasted--why else would I have enough time to figure this out while urinating? :D

i'd like the mag more if it weren't so airbrushed. all the picts look like blurred pictures. quite annoying.

i love it, got a subscription to stuff and maxim. pics are great, and the articles are hilarious. it's damn entertaining, and that's exactly what i get it for. if i wanted to read about economic slowdowns and new emerging products or trends i'd look it up on the net rather than wait a month for some magazine to clue me in. if i wanted porn i'd get playboy. great commentary, uses profanity several times an issue, hilarious jokes and reader-submitted stories, articles from how to get it on with strippers to pulling your leg out of a bear trap, i love it. but then again i'm a college student, not exactly something in my father's collection.

surry if oar jurnalism ain't up to yer yale and hurvard folk !

I don't read it, it is some decent eye candy though, my friend has the one with Alba, and the other day I picked up the one with Jeri Ryan.

/edit BTW I'm not taking your poll, I try to avoid biased polls.

I've been a Maxim subscriber since it first came out. I also buy subscriptions for "real guys" as XMas presents. (real guy = not married...wives and GFs tend to get ticked off when they see "girly mags" around.

I love the magazine. I agree on the airbrushed pics though. That's annoying. I happen to like all the little monthly installments of things like "How To" where every month they pick some absurd topic and show you how to accomplish it. The fashion section in the back is pretty neat even though I wouldn't wear some of that stuff even if I could afford it.

The back page "Are you as stupid as you look?" gets me rolling every month.

Besides, they renew me a $12 per year. How can you go wrong? Gorgeous women, magazine geared squarely at your crotch and wallet...it's heaven-sent! :D

I've never bought an issue of it, and I never will. A friend of mine bought an issue once and after looking at the pics I tried to read the articles, but there was nothig of substance. It was all crap, page after page of crap interspersed with some pictures of hot girls. But I imagine it'll survive because of the pictures...

Don't get me wrong, I have a subscription to both as well. After awhile however, you begin to notice how much they use the same jokes, lame interview questions, silly captions, etc. About the only thing that never gets old to me is that Japanese dude who tries all the foods (Hiroki?). Man, that's hilarious.

"No sir, I don't like it"

Actually, it's not too bad but its not that great. That "Best City in North America" ploy was funny while it lasted :)

This guy knows his stuff - it's meant to be a parody of sorts - on life, on other men's magazines, and of the media. It isn't meant to be taken at full face value - just for entertainment... I think the articles about how to get out of speeding tickets, guys who've had their lives ruined by steroid abuse, etc are rather interesting and a good break from the boring reality we call our everyday lives...

Their monthly reviews of products are pretty funny - when they did the 5 restaurant burger shootout, one of the categories was the number of insect fragments in the burger...

Geez guys, laugh a little, and read it more often, perhaps you'll learn how to get laid for once!! (And coincidentally, there has been articles on how to last 5 minutes longer)

(I started reading it when it first came out and sold issues 6-15 on eBay for $180, hehe)

I agree; Hiroki is the schiznitz! His comments "ugh, this make me sick...chocolate worm taste better!" just cracks me up! :D

I like GQ and Esquire. Much more well written, informative, and a LOT less juvenile. Maxim is what you read after you outgrow MAD magazine. :D
