POLL: Re-gifting?

A good friend of mine got me this book.

As you can tell, it's $22.05 at Amazon, but he got it at Borders, which means that he paid full retail + tax.

Now, I was thinking about getting it originally, but it was a little pricey at my current status so he got it for me as a Christmas present, which means that I have the receipt and everything.

The question is, should I return the book at Borders, get the cash, and get the book from Amazon (+ something else) instead? I mean, I AM getting the same present, but at the same time, I kinda feel like that it's something sh!tty to do, but I can't put a finger on why.

Your thoughts?

edit: In this case, retail + tax = ~$38.00

Also depends if he paid cash, if he paid credit card, if you return it they will refund it to his credit card that he used.

True Dat...

I accidentally voted for the second option; meant to click on the first. I don't think there's anything wrong with it... it's not really "re-gifting" in my opinion.

sure...why not....you still end up with what you wanted and a bonus. you wouldn't hesitate to return it if it wasn't something you wanted.

If you want to take the time to do it then more power to you. Personally if I left my house to do the return I would end up just eating my profit in McDonalds or TacoBell on the way home 🙁

If this is really a moral dilemma for you, you need to take a hard look at your life.

It could only mean that other, more pertinant moral issues are figured out. 😉
Like I'd post uber-serious issues on ATOT - I'd know better. 😛
