It's hilarious 'cause it's so unexpected and raw. I didn't know what this was and though it was going to be some comedic ad (the guy's all smiling: "she spilled my coffee" *chuckle*)....and then he bolts out of his chair ("you fvckin' b!tch!") and wails on her.

But yeah....if I ever saw something like that in public...well I'm pretty sure that I and every other guy in the place would take care of it quick.

Saw a guy flat-out punch a girl in a bar once.....he didn't look so pretty when the patrons were done with him.

Me too. :|

I had to watch my mom get beat up a lot when I was a kid. I found those commercials VERY disturbing. GOOD!!!

Problem is that anybody who does that crap prolly just says, "Yeah, I *wish* I could do that!" :|

Nothing more chicken sh!t than a woman beater. I'm surprised more wife beaters aren't killed in their sleep by their wives or poisoned....thats one person I wouldn't think you'd want to make an enemy of.

How is it funny? It really bothered me to watch someone do that to another, regardless of being a woman or not. You people are so desensitized, its sickening.

Some information from the website with the PSAs

"A bold and innovative television public awareness campaign about domestic violence will not be shown on Calgary television stations due to an unfavourable ruling from the Television Bureau of Canada (TVB).

The TVB denied the HomeFront Society of Calgary approval to run the two public service announcements because they were deemed too graphic according to their Telecaster Guidelines. Given the failure to receive TVB approval, local Calgary televisions stations have decided not to run the PSAs (public service announcements).

?The purpose of the PSAs is to shine a light on domestic abuse by putting domestic violence situations in public places where it would not be tolerated.?

With the support of Ogilvy & Mather Calgary, HomeFront is currently appealing the TVB?s decision."

Are these going on TV, or no?

i think these are on canadian TV

Well considering that 402 is a Nebraskan area code, I have a good feeling they're not on Canadian TV.

Good call.

The numbers are for area code 403, Calgary area.

not to mention the url... homefrontCALGARY

I'm sure the reason people find these borderline funny is not because the condone the violence, but because it is so far removed from their lives that it seems almost cartoonish in nature. I know I sure have no analog for this in my life.

This could've all been avoided if the b!tch hadn't spilt his coffee 😀

It's not really that big of a problem in America as it is in other countries, including the middle east as a whole, and especially China. Chinese law enforcement and government really doesn't take a stance whatsoever on this, and many, many women are abused and beaten very severely in their homes.

I was always taught never to lay a hand on a woman (except in extreme circumstances, IE when my life is threatened), and was severely whoppped on with the ol' strap whenever I hit my sister. Safe to say after the 2nd or 3rd time, I never laid a hand on my sister again.

That's what you think. Once again, a perception of superiority only because the illness is better hidden.

When I was in China, I saw several waitresses with bruises on their face and neck. I was wondering...

If you think it is as widespread and common in the US as in other countries, IE Arab countries and China, then you are very sadly mistaken. It is not merely a perception of superiority. Instead of trying to biasedly and blindly knock the US, why don't you do some research on this topic instead of posting like an arse.

homefront? sounds like something the military would do as a educational thing. ex military have higher rate of spousal abuse from what i remember

but wow, those vids are graphic. the spousal abuse commericals in america are ussually much softer.. like people hearing abuse through walls or seeing shadows and yelling

but eh.... if u think thats bad.... the number of women that get burned alive or acid thrown on em in honor killings or becuz they didn't sire a son in some countries is rather disturbing.

yea i know. the clitorectomies in the us are pretty well hidden. the acid throwing, burning, and plain murder to boot. we are all the same realy. the social standing of women in all countries is equal. this is a well known fact.

really!
