Poll: PS2 vs. XBOX vs. GameCube

I know this thread appeared a ton like, 6-12 months ago, but now that they've all been out awhile, I'm looking for opinions.

So which is your personal favorite? Why? I might buy one, I might not, I dunno. I'm just curious.

I have an xbox and wish I bought a ps2. My friend has one and I like it so much better.

XBox: Better Graphics, good upcoming games, more powerful & has more potential
Gamecube: Don't have one. No comment.

the Xbox mod chip is out, so Xbox may become the next Dreamcast.

great graphics and games that are easy to come by...

too bad the xbox controller sucks majorly.

I love my PS2.

I want a GC for Zelda and stuff.

Gamecube is awesome. XBOX is my next purchase, and I'm going to mod it. Don't plan to buy a single game because my buddies and I have about 20 already. No reason to support MS.

Ok lets see this is coming from someone who owns all three so Im not biased.

PS2 - Huge lineup of games , unfortunately half of those games are crap.. not the quality games that we saw with PSX they just seem alot shorter thats all. Altho there are quite the few good games like Metal Gear solid , Gran Turismo 3 (AWESOME) , Gran theft Auto 3 (also amazing) , etc .... I dont know if your interested in "Backups" for your ps2 but ps2 has a good selection of modchips and has grown greatly.

XBOX - Not a huge lineup of games but it hasnt been out nearly as long as ps2 , the hardware is superior on this machine than the ps2 or the gamecube , however it is bigger than my VCR . But I dont mind because to me Size does matter anyway, Has a bunch of good games also . A few that come to mind are Halo , Project Gotham racing, Moto GP . This system has some quality games to it I must say. Also a plus is the Built in hard drive for various reasons. The "Backup" scene has grown GREATLY since the release of this system and is almost as big as the PS2's . The xbox with a modchip can play DivX, MP3's , SNES emulators , NES Emulators etc.. This system has an amazing underground scene for how young it is. Also the XBOX will be getting some awesome ps2 titles like Gran Theft Auto 3 and Metal Gear Solid 2.


Gamecube - Not very many games but some good ones for sure. Such as Star wars : Rogue Squadron , SSBM , and SUPER MONKEY BALL WOOT! anyway umm yeah this systems cool because of the sheer size of it. Its very small amazingly small. The discs are also Really small. This system doesnt seem to have as many games as either the xbox or the ps2 but that could be advertising or something I dont know I just dont know of near as many good games for this system that are out yet , however alot of good games are coming like Metroid .


So anyway which one is best? Well I love my ps2 but the xbox is my personal winner. The gamecube comes in last for me at the moment because of lack of games im interested in. The XBOX wins for me because of the fact that it will be getting GTA3 AND MGS2 added to its lineup along with the amazing underground scene it makes it the winner in MY BOOK.

That pretty much sums things up for me, other than I would add no interest. to the end of

GTA3 for the X-Box got canned a long time ago.

I have a Gamecube and a PS2, and I'd have to say I like my PS2 better, although Eternal Darkness is making me like the 'Cube a whole lot.

I've got a Gamecube and love it. With all of the great games coming up (such as Zelda, Metroid, Mario), plus what's already out on it (Tony Hawk 3, Eternal Darkness, Smash Bros. Melee, Rogue Leader, to name a few), I'm perfectly happy with my GCN.

the ps2 has better and more games than the other consoles. and their controller is a hell of a lot better than the xbox.
cube has the traditional mario, zelda, star fox, and metroid coming out soon, so watch for those titles. they also have the wireless controller which is a nice luxury
the xbox has bad controllers but a couple good titles mainly halo.

it's all about the exclusives: halo for xbox, mario for cube, gta for ps2
you can't go completely wrong

Oh yes and for those of you who say the xbox has horrible controllers... Well that may be so for alot of you but for me the regular (NOT S type) fit like a glove. Were talking its a nice controller.. and the thing of it is that almost all my friends agree only like 2 think its uncomforatble. So before anyone is harsh on the controller please try it out you may love it or hate it. If you hate it try the s-type if you hate that then your SOL lol

Ive had a XBox since November.

I plan on buying a Gamecube when I get some money. Got to play Mario, Metroid, and Zelda, oh and Res. Evil looks sweet too



I have no plans to get a PS2. Maybe if they drop to $100 or so.





As far as the XBox controller debate. Who cares you have the regular, the s type (my fav), and the PS2 controller. Yes thats right PS2 controller on XBox. The adapter costs $25 and can be found at local stores.

I own FIFA World Cup 2002, FIFA Soccer 2002, WWF/WWE Wrestlemania X8, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Luigi's Mansion, and Sonic 2.

I am considering to buy Resident Evil and Dead or Alive.

I will buy Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Party 4, Legend of Zelda and Metroid Prime as soon as they come out.

People wonder how Nintendo is able to pull profit.

I am all about Gamecube. I think the controller rocks the other 2. I'm also gettting PS2 though, cuz while I think the console is inferior, it will be nice to have all the games that are exclusive.
