Mary Jane - count down, just two months more in California and this madness of prohibition ends.

Yeah? Even Fed's will look the other way?

The fact that many can get around paying taxes by accepting cash then not reporting it, like waiters do with tips, is no argument against requiring the payment of taxes. I don't understand your reasoning. Are you saying that because, as a practical matter, much of their income will go unreported, they shouldn't be required to report it?

Under the current administration, yes I think so. They've already initiated a policy of not raiding/prosecuting pot clubs in states where medical pot is legal. Future administrations? Unknown, but I tend to think minimal intrusion as the public winds are starting to blow in favor of legalization. I think a republican can credibly stay away from meddling on "state's rights" grounds without alienating the evangelical base by coming out directly in favor of legalization. Most dems are already in favor of legalizing it, while I suspect the typical repub position will become "I don't support legalization, but it should be handled on a state by state basis, just like abortion should be."

This is a situation where it would be interesting to have more women on P&N....
They have still raided pot clubs in California since Obama has been in office.
Because their opinion on the subject is more important or should be valued higher than ours? If anything we need more PROSTITUTES on P&N, men and women.
rofl just let them try and do something about it, there are FAR to many of us here in California.
California is becoming a modern day sodom and gomorrah, sooner or later your state will fall into the ocean... and sink to the bottom.

Ignoramus.

Only the most liberal republicans would position as you said.
Most republicans are socially conservative in nature and largely support a strong centralized government. Moral issues like abortion and marijuana should be illegal at the federal level with the states having no say.
The tenth ammendment of the constitution was the biggest mistake in the history of our government.
Yeah, there's been some scattered cases in spite of Obama apparently issuing a policy memo that says not to do it. Maybe the memo contains certain qualifications, or leaves some discretion to the various enforcement agencies? Dunno. Not terribly worried though, as I think the winds are blowing against prohibition.

Possibly, but all I know is they're still going after some.
I think that had more to do with non licensed dispensaries than anything else.
I know LA county was cracking down pretty hard on the ones that were less than legal.
As for the original topic, George Carlin said it best.
"Selling is legal.
Fucking is legal.
So why isn't selling fucking legal?"

The tenth ammendment of the constitution was the biggest mistake in the history of our government, followed closely behind it by the 2nd biggest mistake ever the 21st ammendment.
