Actually, looknig at it again, I'm not so sure the way you actually say mana is wrong, I think it may just be the way you wrote the pronunciation. The correct pronunciation is like mona where "mon" is pronounced like the first half of "monsoon" and "a" is pronounced basically like "uh". The way you wrote "maw-na" breaks the word up in the middle and gives it a drawn out first syllable and makes the whole word sound weird.

Mana is a Maori word, so there's definitely no 'o' sound in it. 'mah-na' or 'mar-na' is closer.

I get the impression you guys are drawling 'mawna' in an American accent :p

Check the number of responses. Clearly many people didn't know, and didn't answer :)
And yes, I pronounced it like Line-X in my head when I first saw it. Fortunately I read the correct pronunciation before I embarassed myself out loud.

I've been adding more words to the poll as I think of them. Not as many people have had the chance to vote on it.

How else can you pronounce flaccid? I'd add it but I don't know any other pronunciations other than flass-id.

1) Jif, I used to say gif, but I was corrected many years ago.
2) J Peg.
3) Kah-zah. Not one of your options (I don't use the southern drawl with the aw in pretty much any of my language).
4) Loll. I do this on purpose since saying it like loll will make the text writer sound pretty stupid. This is usually the case for the teenagers writing 100 lol's in each of their posts. A radio program reads these things out loud and it is amazing that over 50% of the words said in that program are "laugh out loud" often 5-7 times in each sentence. Thus I highlight my disgust at its use by using "loll" to make the writer sound more stupid than they are.
5) Say-ko.
6) Man-ah.
7) Wear ez.
8) Nov-iss.
9) A - bit.
10) Ben-Q.
11) I say may-lay, but most people I hear say mee-lee. They are equivalent to me.
12) A - sus. Not one of your options.
13) Im-pal-ah.
14) Linn-ucks. I here Line-ucks much more often though and slip on occasion myself.
15) Jag-wah-r. I have a definate 'w' sound in it.
16) WTF is Tag Heuer. Looked Germanic so I'd say Hoy-er but still WTF is it?
17) Pom-aid.
18) Flass-id.
19) Shee-its. Not one of your options.
