Poll: Majority gives Bush good job approval mark

(CNN) -- Fifty-five percent of Americans like the way President Bush is handling his job, while the approval rating for his Iraq policies is slightly lower, according to the first full CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll following the November 2 presidential election.

Yeah right.

Look at P&N and you tell me if you think Bush's popularity is increasing.

...gas prices have been falling since the election.

Gas jumped 0.24 in Lexington in the last week. From $1.71 to $1.95. Oil is now approaching $50 (or more) per barrell. OPEC is considering lowering output (heard on CNN) as inventories start to grow. Not sure what the President can do about this (if anything), but prices are indeed on the rise again. :(

Gas prices in my small town of 13,000, right next to Pasadena, CA, and 10 miles away from LA are at $2.25

Frankly this poll is realy no different than the election results. Which basically was the same thing. How well do you think Bush is doing his job? Any increase here is well within the margin of error. And if you will remember exit polls said we all should be looking forward to a President Kerry inauguration... Yeah! not...

Isn't Cali the only state with a state gas tax? Perhaps that would explain the difference.

Last poll I saw before the election had Bush at 49% approval rating. 3% margin of error in this poll is clearly beyond the error of margin.

I would imagine that almost every state has a gas tax. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York states all have a substantial gas tax.

Yup, every single state does.

RCP includes the notoriously GOP-based Gallup and Fox News polls... and we know how impartial those are.

You can talk numbers all you want. The fact is that several of the most inflammatory posters on this board are liberals who take the opposite point of view to whatever Bush does, regardless of the issue. I'd like to see you try and disprove that fact

Or do neocons not care about the facts anymore?

You can keep your neocon bs out of this. I don't who your debating with, but I for one never brought up whether there are a bunch of "inflammatory posters on this board are liberals who take the opposite point of view to whatever Bush does, regardless of the issue."

Those posters wouldn't contribute to a Bush bounce.

Ahh, yes, but Fox, Gallup, Pew and Wash Post having a history of over-sampling Republican respondants WOULD contribute to an artificial Bush bounce.
