Libertarian. It's so much more fun because you tend to piss both the right and left political types in equal measure. Great for someone who likes to stir things up like me :)

Then shouldn't you at least have a results option?

None of the above, I'm a thinker and I refuse to pigeonhole myself with a stupid political label.

Nope - If you don't fall into one of these 3 then please don't vote. This is far from scientific but I am trying to do something here;)

That great and all but I'm looking for what people think they are - not what some website with that uses some questionable questions/answers to tell you what you are. Thanks :)

Didn't vote.

Hi, I am a Conservative, therefore I need to justify whatever crime Bush commits.

Hi, I am a Liberal, therefore I need to justify Clinton's complete lack of moral center.

Neither appeals to me. I would rather view the world on the merits of a particular issue rather than having to figure out how to make it fit into my predetermined conceptual box. If I am going to have my views, I would rather not have the attitude of "please tell me what to think" Now I understand some naturally follow along these lines. Many are glad to have an administration "take care of them" without thought.

Oh, forgot Libertarians...

Hi, I am a Libertarian, therefore leave me THE FSCK ALONE - ;)

(It's a joke libs. :D )

Bus - Political ideologies transcend the political parties. This was a poll on that - not about being a Democrat, Republican, or "Independant" - that would be an entirely different poll and could garner completely different results.

Just a side note;) - It is interesting that you use the words "commit" and "crime" in Bush's statement but use "lack of moral character" for Clinton. Interesting indeed;) <-take it to a different thread:) This one is on political ideology - NOT politicians and their parties.
Thanks

I have taken this test a few times; my authoritarian/libertarian score is almost always the same (6 to 8), but my economic center wavered right around the middle.

Well, if you do not want commentaries, request that no one reply :p

In theory you are correct. In practice I think not, at least for the great majority of things. How many Limbaugh worshippers do you think voted for Clinton? How about guys that think Al Franken is God reincarnate voted for Bush? Not many I wager. Parties exist as they do because the candidates reflect the concept of Liberal and Conservative. Do you think if Al Sharpton became a Republican, he would win the nomination? No, Sharptons ideology (which I think is wacky) does not fit in with the CONSERVATIVE philosophy of the Reps. I could come up with an equivalent example for the Dems. Now you say this is about political ideology and not parties. This is like asking if someone prefers the mountains or the beach for vacations, but maintaining that is a separate issue than if people like to go where there is variable terrain which is mostly wooded in the east, where hiking would involve walking up grades of granite formed by geological processes, or rather going to an area where there is a lot of sand where water meets land, and is met by the ocean at the edge of major bodies of land. I never said mountain or beach, but that is what they MEAN. If I had constructed a poll of "do you more closely identify with Republicans or Democrats or Libertarians", you believe the same people would not largely vote in the same matter. As a practical matter party IS ideology. Maybe this is a theoretical question without application?

BTW, if you like I can rephrase my Bush and Clinton statements, they both suffer from a lack of moral character. The first resulted in a war without demonstrated threat, and the second with lying about a BJ. Somehow to me they are not equivalent. That was not the point. The point is that people who box themselves into an ideological corner have to justify their leaders actions regardless how reprehensible they may be. The issue of politics and parties are inseperable.

Later, perhaps I will make another thread to satisy you. How about a poll about "Is it better to kill people with little or no credible evidence or lie about a BJ" :p That is what you seem to want me do. Frankly I have that answer for myself. I would hope being conservative or liberal would not influence the answer.
