Hi,
I am planning to build a system for home use

I am a developer who uses oracle and Web development.

I am planning to have Win 2K and 98 on the same pc

Other stuff i do include Editing / Copying the Video from Video Camera to CD's ( My parents are back in india ) and i want to send them Video this way ) Scanning pictures is the other task.

Pls. suggest me about My Configuration

IWill KK 266 - R Mother Board
My question in this regard is if AMD Comes with Faster Chips can this MB can handle them ( new Core)
AMD 1.2 GZ Processor
512 Mb Memory Crucial
MAxtor 60 GB Hdd
Video Card Some thing with TV Out and TV and Audio Tuner
Need Helpppppppppppppppppppp.

ANd the Case I am looking for a case which also looks nice ( need to please My Boss (wife) )
And fax modem -- can i go with any free modems which come left and right in compusa and other store promo's.

DVD Drive also. ..

If i want to to do raid 0 do i need two hard drives (???)
if so then i would go with no raid currently and add the additional hard drive later -- Do this hd's need to be of the same time.

Help is veymuch appreciated.

Any iwillers who can help me in this regard.

Antec cases are good and have good power supply and for a modem you should get a good one something like usr hardware based.
 
No you don't need two drive to use 0raid
and yes the drives must be identical if you want to use two.

Um...YES you need TWO Harddrives to run Raid 0. They must be identical (same size etc.). Also, I'm pretty sure the KK266 will support the new Palimino Athlons.

On another note, DDR SDRAM is getting cheap, only a few bucks more now. You might wanna consider a DDR SDRAM based mobo?

I don't think you can get a 'Alien Ware' case from Alienware.com either. Unless you buy a whole system from them. Go check out www.directron.com. They have tons of cases. Lian-Li, Antec, Enlight, and Supermicro are all good to name a few.

How stable is DDR Solutions for AMD for now
are they ready to take advantage of DDR memory - What i read on Anandtech is they are not ready yet to take full advantage

any thoughts.
