Presume that you have a Liger, which can reach about 1200 lbs, put into a fairly large cage with Pitbulls. The liger is hungry and can eat only pitbull meat, and the pitbulls are hungry and can eat only liger meat. Who's going to win? How many pitbulls (reaching adult weights of around 110 lbs each) are you going to need to take out this liger?

Ligers are freaky. They usually have them at King Richard Faire in Carver, Massachusetts... I would think about 10 hungry pitbulls would do it. The Lion probably wound all of them in the process.. but the constant knawing and damage inflicted by the pitbulls would render the Liger helpless i think.

Check out this pic of a liger being led by trainers :Q

Yep. A male tiger and a female lion makes a Tion or Tigon. Can't quite remember which :)

Not sure how many Pitbulls its going to be required to take out a Liger, but I'll bet its more than a dozen, and wouldn't be
surprised if it was 19+. We are talking a 1200 pound Lion/Tiger vs a pack of 60 pound Pitbulls. You figured even if they
swarmed him, get could bat away most of the pitbulls no problem.

Now Liger vs Grizzly. Now theres a fight. My bets on the Grizzly.

Well these were assumed to be heavy 110 lb pitbulls, which I think is what they top out at!

I don't know what a grizzly can get up to but a kodiak bear can hit 2000 lbs and I'm thinking that it would have the edge against the liger. A polar bear peaks around the same weight as a liger. Either fight would be interesting.

This is a repost of an repost :D

Basically the bear vs tiger/lion discussion outcome was that the bear would kick the cats ass. And note, the grizzly bear outclasses its bigger cousin the polar bear. Grizzlies are built like a tank, while a polar bear has a fragile bone structure light enough for them to swim. One swipe with a grizzly's paw would probably shatter the skull of a big cat. Plus, the cats will have to get in close to use the choke hold for a kill, while a grizzly can use its arms as battering rams and its jaw would inflict a crushing bite. Ligers and tigons wouldn't stand a chance since they are actually a lot more docile than their purebreed cousins. That's why I only voted 4-6 for the pitbulls :D

well pitbulls are tough and were bread to take on big beast.

but after looking at the liger i gotta admit it would take a few. even though when a pitbull is in a rage its really hard to kill (without a gun).

I wouldnt want either after me and ticked off.

Right, docile works right up untill it is pissed. Then all bets are off because fear of death can do amzing things in the animal kingdom.

they actually did this in the past, put a bear against a tiger and what not, and teh grizzly killed the lion with 1 swat from his paw (smashed the skull right in) , the strength of the giant bears is insane

theres a link for this ill see if i can find it

sweet found the link

3-4 pitbulls or enough to distract it until one of the buggers get ahold of its throat
