When you AnandTecher's are sitting at front of your computer, how bright do you light up the room? I have my room lit up with overhead lighting equivalent to 600W halogen lights(three 32W T8 fluorescent lamp), but it's still not bright enough. Still not quite well lit up as classrooms at school :disgust:

I added two 40W lights above my desk. My ceiling looks like hell, but my room is lit up like an operating room.

newly added lights. I don't have cover to it, but isn't it pretty? LOL
I got it from a dumpster. A little shop did a retrofit with something that looks nicer, so they threw out their old metal frame. I had to buy the lamps and the driver(you see that black with wires coming out of it?) though.

Post links to pics of your computer room lighting.

all i need is a little light so i can see the keyboard. i need to look at the keyboard every once in a while, while i am typing. i always need to look down after i hit backspace... i lose my place on the keyboard when i have to do that.

I've got a swing-desklamp clamped onto my computer table with a 75W bulb. Works fine.. Jerboy, I'm surprised you don't get three or four of those 300W halogen floor lamps and turn 'em all on max. Now that's bright.. (you'd be complaining about a lot more than $0.37 on your power bill, however..)

Four halogen floor lamps equal 1200W, compares nicely to space heater and it will make my room real hot. I should really go for three high-output 86W eight foot fluorescent though. Those will give me 24,600lumens together, which is slightly more than four 300W floor lamps.

It's all about the cold cathdoes and the leds baby. When you ahev that soft hue of blue hit your cheeck and your eyes, you know you are in your blissful state. Not to mention that blue is easy on the eyes.

During the day, I only use daylight. At night it depends if I'm working or not. If I'm working then I usually have to read some documents or something so I'm using the 75 watt ceiling light; but if I'm gaming or surfing, then it's just indirect light coming from somewhere else in the house.

Some of you really need to experience things beyond CRT or LCD staring.

When I wear radiant armor I can light up about a hundred square meters. I glow in the dark, but not everybody has eyes that see it. :D
