Poll: Pharmacist refused emergency contraception prescription. Court to decide if that was discrimination.

Should pharmacists be allowed to refuse emergency contraception based on their religion?

Andrea Anderson was denied her prescription based on the religious conviction of the pharmacist. She sued the pharmacy Thrifty White for discrimination and lost the case in 2019. She is appealing. IMO discrimination was a tactical error. They should have gone the medical malpractice route or some kind of dereliction of duty. Andrea was about to get her contraceptives this night by driving 100 miles in the snow.

IMO that pharmacy and pharmacists should be sued out of existence.

Before you vote a reminder, emergency contraceptives are not abortifacients, they prevent pregnancy before it happens.

Wonder how this would go it it was one of those nut bags who thought any and all medical intervention was against their religion. Can I take a job then refuse to do it based on my religion?

I think I have an idea.....

Wish me luck

No, fuck them. Find another job that doesn't conflict with your selective enforcement of beliefs in your imaginary sky friend.

That's exactly right, and it goes for any other job that involves helping members of the public in important ways.

Go get a job at Hobby Lobby or some other Christian place where your tender sensibilities won't be trodden upon. Fucking wankers.

It was not discrimination. It is as you said.
To hold that job they should be required to supply all available medications as prescribed.
It is up to the business to announce what they do or do not sell and make available. Everyone should know this ahead of time.

I am surprised that it was filled as a discrimination case. It is more of a medical malpractice/failure to do duty case.
