~POLL~ PEARL JAM or REM ?

I like REM but I just love Pearl Jam's music. My friend disagree's and feels that REM is a far better band and will go down in history as such. I just can't buy it, I mean REM WAS great (still is in my mind), but they've almost been forgotten in these times, and I do believe Pearl Jam will be right up there with REM as one of the greats. What do you guys think? You can cast your vote using you're own personal preference but if you feel that the other is more popular and/or considered greater by general consensus than feel free to comment!

as I posted in the other thread,

Pearl Jams new album which comes out on Nov. 12 is pretty good so I hear

"Thumbing my way" and "I am mine" rule and I can't leave out Bushleaguer, a song about our favorite president

REM Hands Down. I've been following them since Murmur back in 1983-84 when Stipe sounded like he sang with a sock in his mouth. I like Pearl Jam too, I just don't think they are at the same level as REM.

Wow, from what I've heard from Pearl Jam's upcoming CD, I am Mine, I have a feeling's it's going to a great album... maybe not another ten, but we'll see...
