Just wondering, as I don't pay for anything, and all of my friends at school do.

Remember, this was while you were in highschool.
 
I got a Montero for my 16th birthday, and I was responsible for insurance and gas. I think my parents handled that well, I actually wanted to work after I got my truck.
 
My parents gave me the old truck(88 Chevy Silverado 4x4), I put a new motor in it. They paid insurance, I paid gas.
 
i dont have a car, and it SUCKS. i think i know more people who have cars than those who dont. i hate it.
 
No. My first car, my parents paid for most of it, I paid about $800 of the $4700 we paid for it. My second and current car, my mother got into an accident, so I gave her the first car, and we used the insurance money from her car, to buy me my current one. I voted no, because without the first car, I wouldn't have the second.

Yes, I pay for my insurance. It used to be $866 every 3 months, a f'n ripoff. Now I pay $1400 every 6 months, which is still expensive.

Yes, I pay for my own gas, $20 will last me about 10 days.

EDIT: Oh, in HS? I had a car my senior year, the first car. I guess everything applies, except I didn't have a second car.
 
first car.. grand am.. paid $2k for it, cash. I bought it. Sold it a couple years later (with an engine knock) for $2k.

second car, 73 914. Paid $2k from grand am, and spent $1k getting it running. Drove for a year or so, and sold it for $4500

third car, 89 crx. Paid 800 for it. uncle totalled it in drunken theft/rage.

fourth car, current car, 200sx se-r. Paid $5k. Worth $7k at the time.. not a great deal but I like it.

motorcycle, suzuki gs500. Bought it myself.


all insurance, gas, etc. paid by me.

Aren't you in Cali, the WORST place to drive in the US? Be glad you don't get to fight traffic every day.

:Q why so expensive? Accidents/tickets, or full coverage?

I didn't have a car in HS, got my first car in college.
