Here in Phoenix for Cox Cable, it costs $15 a month for rental I think, so youre getting a pretty good deal...do they let you upgrade or swap out for different models?

I bought an RCA Cablemodem about two years ago for $100 off of E-bay, back when they were $250 retail. E-bay for Anandtechers is like masturbation for Anandtechres - you all deny doing it, but you need it, use it, and love it more than the rest of the population!

I've seen the popular Motorola SB4100/SB4200, Toshiba and RCA cable modems for as low as $59 after rebates or $99 without rebates.

Just why exactly is your cable modem homosexual? Or perhaps it's just a happy cable modem?

I also own the Toshiba PCX1100U and have had no problems with it whatsoever. And unless it's humping my router while I'm sleeping I don't see any reason to call it gay.

Own. Motorola 4100. Have had absolutely zero issues or problems with it. Will lose signal once in a blue moon during thunderstorms: simply power down, power back up and all is well again. No way would I ever pay to lease one as you'd have paid for the damn thing in a year or so.
