1) If you quote someone's post in its entirety, are you taking that person out of context?
2) If that quote is blatant name-calling, is that a personal attack? While opinions of the definition of "blatant" may vary, assume for this question that it is blatant enough to transcend personal opinion and that you consider it blatant.
3) Is quoting it in your sig a personal attack in return?

#1: Umm, that depends on whether or not you're taking them out of context, not how much you quote. You can quote someone's entire post and still take them out of context, you can quote one line and still have it be in context.

#2: Blatant name calling usually is considered a personal attack, yes.

#3: Sorta, but it just shows immaturity.
