Am I the only one who feels that the SON of a president should NOT be allowed to run as long as daddy is still alive?

Think about it, how many people are going to go against Daddy's wishes?

Isn't it pretty much like Dad is getting that third term that he can't legally run for?

And eventually it could lead to pretty much a monarchy type system, all they have to do is pump out enough kids and train them to be politicians ....

This is only the 2nd time this has happened in the history of this country. I would not get too worried about a monarchy yet.

I think it's pretty much common knowledge that I'm the most anti-bush person here, if not in existence. But I don't think it's a family thing, just a political/economic thing. I'd have no problem with Nicolae's daughters running, providing their politics are different from daddy dearests.

welcome. We could use some laughs here. Tell me a joke.

You mean some of the posts here don't make you laugh? :p

Anyway - like charrison said - I wouldn't start worrying about a monarchy. With a two term limit - it'd be awful tough to sustain one.

I'm not sure . . . consider 8 JFK, 8 RFK, and 8 Teddy (followed by a future 8 by JFK Jr). As bad as that sounds this one is even worse . . . 4 GHWB, 8 GWB, and 8 Jeb. The only thing worse than bad political philosophy is perpetuating bad political philosophy. Can you imagine how big a tool Arsecroft's son must be?!

Welcome to P&N Brut, but you got it wrong on your very first post, it's not "Your Majesty Bush", It's "Heil Bush"!

There is some big name conservative writer or commentator who was on NPR the other day fretting about the Clinton and Bush dynasties. I agree completely. Its completely unamerican and disgusting. We're voting for brands.

Of course they should be allowed.
We do get to vote you know, dubya senior can't just appoint his son.
Especially when Clinton is the president.

EDIT: and we shouldn't have term limits either. If the people want to re-elect the same president for 10 terms, we should be allowed to.

We better recruit another conservative here to counteract the liberal brutuskend influence.

Oh, I agree. After one ponders the transgressions of the Johnson administration, along with various misgivings relating to the current admin, the simple answer says they shouldn't.

I think people from Arkansas shouldn't be allowed to run.
I mean if a state can produce Bill Clinton and Wesley Clark, it should automatically go on the banned list.
