Notice that I've censored key information and IC tags to keep it interesting. If you need clarification on the card's bracket, it features a DB25 female connector and a block of 6 switches.
If you know for sure what it is, don't post it, I'll reveal the answer later today.

[UPDATE]
The final numbers are in.
A predictable 55.5% of you thought it was a parallel I/O card.
11.1% of you stabbed at serial I/O card.
A surprising 26.0% of you guessed it was a disk controller.
A mere single vote for other controller cards...
And only one, single vote for the correct answer: video card.

It is an AT&T VDC750 video card, based on the Paradise 38315B.
Nearest I can figure based on AT&T PC6300 specs, the green connector in the corner is to pipe +15v to the attached display.

Will the lone voter please step forward and receive your prize? :D

It's a ISA Parallel port card and it looks old.

(Edit: looked too short to be ISA at first, but I was only thinking of 16 bit. 8 bit is shorter)

You're partly right, but that answer is not on the quiz! Multiple choice, fool! :)

Yea, that bad boy's an ISA card - as far as what it does, it looks like it's got a parallel adapter so I'm guessing it's a parallel card...

Seems to be to be a 8bit ISA serial I/o card.. though I´m not entirely sure... made in 1987 so its old :)

Those dip switches confuse me though.

I'm going for it being an old EGA card. Switches are for hardware setting of resolution and/or monochrome operation?

Netopia, I think you are right, the more I look at it the more it looks like a video card.

Due to the memory on the left and the two large processors and the EEPROM chip, it's looks like an old 8 bit ISA video card. Likely a Western Digital Paradise.

Due to the internal connector that seems to be a floppy controller (something commonly found on old SCSI cards) and the fact that the external connector seems to be a 25 pin, it looks like an old, 8 bit SCSI I controller. But this doesn't explain the RAM. :( Also; see the green connector in the upper right? Activity LED.

note the resistors on the db-25 port. And the jumper that selects 3xx or 2xx isa base port assignment.

It has dram.

Why don't you give us a hint with the chips. That could be a whole computer on a slot :)

1987 build date. hmm..

I'm afraid I cannot reveal the part #'s at this point. :) Don't worry, the answer is coming soon.
