<<You can travel to the other side of the world, and the fact remains the same:>>
Maybe you fail to understand that when you quote from an austriallian source about automotive fatality rates you are taking information that has NO bearing on the US market. Cars in other countries are made to different standards and often are quite different than US built automobiles. Shall I quote Russian sources to prove my point? Or maybe French? It's a differnet fvcking country, get that through your thick head. Stick to REPUTABLE american sources, and David Levine isn't one, he's an activist.
<<Looks like the top rated cars there aren't Australian anyway...>>
Ya know this proves that you know not a thing about the world, try learning something about the industrial manufacturing of automobiles, where it is done and to what standards.
<<This topic was about "American Muscle or Japanese Sophistication". A new "mid-size" car may be safer than an older full size, but WTF is a "mid-size"? No way is a rice rocket safer than a full-size muscle car.>>
You have stated bigger = better and referenced your choice to drive a 70's model vehicle. You then proceed to quote the hwysafety.org (the insurance industry) to prove your point. I then provided this quote from that SAME source (the insurance industry):
Most of today's cars are better designed for crash protection than cars of 6 to 10 years ago. So avoid older vehicles. For example, a newer mid-size car with airbags would be a better choice than an older, larger car without airbags.
Now SHOW me where an authoritative source (ie FHWA, NTSB or III) says that driving a big old car is safer than a newer car! Because you can't!
And FOR your EDUCATION here is a link to MIDSIZE (inexpensive) automobiles...

OH and another thing, don't bother to reply because I won't read it. You have an inability to remain civil and you apparently can't read.
