I'm trying to establish if 680i has really made any improvement.

I would not consider a Reference MOBO until there is a revision.

I am trying to establish if the ASUS MOBO - ASUS P5N32-E is good.

Or if anyone has had any experience with the ABIT - ABIT IN9 32X-MAX.

My board has been completely stable so far. I have managed to overclock to 3.2 ghz with no voltage changes. However, there is still the PS/2 bug which has not been fixed yet. Others with this board have reported worse problems, such as inability to boot with certain brands of ram which has never been resolved. Also, the north bridge runs ridiculously hot (>70 C) and requires the use of the noisy fan. At this point I would say steer clear of the 680i.

The preview/review for the P5n32-E Sli Plus was supposed to be out nearly 2 weeks ago. It still has not arrived. Sound like the same story as the 1st rev. A review was due out somtime around last thanksgiving yet it never arrived. I believe (pure speculation) to some issues with the mobo. Maybe the same thing is happening with the Plus version (again conjecture).
