The board moderators need to make a new polls forum. There are way too many of these in the hardware forum.

I couldn't careless if no one goes to the poll forum seph, the point is so that we won't have to deal with these threads in the main forum.

This poll is useless and inaccurate anyway, because I bet almost no one who votes has used more than one of the current gen competing cards in one system for an extended period of time, which would be the only way someone would be able to come up with an informed opinion.

Maybe my eyes aren't the greatest (I do need new glasses ;))But I have had no problems out of any modern video cards 2D performance.

Maybe a better poll would be to chose the nVidia card you own (brand & type) and then comment on the 2D image quality. That way we could see which brand of cards have better image quality overall.

GF is pretty bad in 2D, Matrox and 3DFX are much better. I have/had all the popular cards (G200/400 V3/V5, GF2 MX/GTS), the G400 is really sweet, 3dFX is very nice, but nVidia is "fuzzy"...

My TNT2U's (CL) 2D quality is far from nice to the eye.

My vote: Is completely suck. My next board will be a Matrox, despite nVidia's fast 3D.

Every video card out there is going to give you fantastic 2D quality if you are not demanding much from your video card (i.e., 17 inch monitor output or low resolutions). When you start to push the video card by displaying on a 19 inch monitor or running at 1280x1024 or above this is when you start separating Matrox from 3dfx from NVidia. NVidia, despite their ridiculous pricing always mangages to dissapoint in this arena. I guess with their supposed 6 month product cycle, they have not yet had the time to tackle the 2D-quality issue...

I just want to know if NVIDA 2d quality sucks.
It is clear to me on a 21"
I can not tell any change from my v3 2000.
I need the brands of Nvidia based cards.

<< Who plays in 2D anyway? >>

Uh, last I knew, a PC was a multifunction device. 3D for games, 2D for everything else you do such as posting here. Good 2D is very important to many people. I have a Voodoo 3 and love the 2D (and 3D). Very good. I have a Radeon on the way as my new card :):):). This card is supposed to have 2D just about as good as a Matrox G400 and stellar 3D to boot. I'll let you know once I get it. The Radeon should be up at the top of the list.
