Poll: Number of Dead Pixels on Your 2405FPW?

Yay! (Kind of). I got my 2405FPW in today, and I want to run the full battery of tests on it to determine if I should return it and have a new one sent or not.

I used "LCDTest" and was able to detect two obviously dead pixels. One is about two inches from the left side along the midline, and the other is about three inches from the right side along the top.

There are two more quality tests I can think of:
1.) Checking backlight unevenness or bleed-through (it looks like it has a slightly lighter spot on the top and one on the left. But it's not severe -- I guess? It's hard to quantify that test.)
2.) Checking for the "high pitch" noise after the monitor has been on for a couple hours.

I guess I'll just look at the blank screen saver and try to determine #1. Are there any other tests you can think of? I'm currently running off the standard VGA cable connected to a Dell 700m. The parts for a new desktop are "in transit" at the moment.

More importantly, if you have a 2405FPW, did you return it? Why? How many dead pixels is your limit? (More importantly, should I return it and try again?)

Thanks!

i have 2 dead (or are they stuck?) pixels. i don't care.
i do care (though not enough to return) about the slight sag to the right, though. this didn't manifest itself until recently. i knew about it when it first came out so i knew to check to see if it was straight back then.

Wow... I actually just played that little blinking video and "massaged" one of the pixels and it went away. The other one didn't, but I can probably live with one.

Interesting -- I wonder if that's permanent or not.

I've got one on mine. I have to be about 2" away and slightly to the right or the further away I go I have to go further and further to the right I must be. Also it onlt show up when that pixel is jet black.

Needless to say it doesn't bother me at all.

I have my 2405fpw for over a month and haven't noticed any dead pixels so far, although I haven't used any special programs the help to test it. All I did was to inspect the screen from close range for a few seconds after I first used it, but everything looked (and still is) perfect. btw, it was purchased on ebay (A+++++ great transaction)

Hrmm....

I'm tempted to return it now. It looks like the majority of people don't have a single dead pixel. (And who knows when my "second" pixel will die again).

It's so beautiful, though! It makes it hard.

Got my 2405 yesterday. I noticed 2 dead pixels and some other little spots using Dead Pixel Buddy Test. I just rubbed them and to my surprise they went away immediately. Now my monitor has no dead pixels, no backlight issues, no noise problems. It's perfect!

How do you check for sagging?
well, there's a several ways to verify.
Method 1: with the base and screen both facing directly towards you, all horizontal lines should be parallel. but on mine, i noticed they weren't. this is how i saw that it was sagging (saw the back of the stand was not parallel with the bottom of the screen). I've circled in red the area i'm talking about in the image below.

Method 2: measure height of the 2 bottom corners relative to the table (green circles in image below).

Method 3: use a level on the top (i don't have one but i think my floor is slanted anyway 😛)
