mostly looks, speed, handling, price, etc.
basically the total package.

the 350z looks MUCH better.
haven't heard much about the speed or handling capabilites of the sc430.

350z is cheaper and faster.

I give looks to the Lexus, but sports cars are for go, not show.

You're saying 0-60 @ 6.5sec for a Luxury Convertible is slow ?

How about looks, material, build etc..?

The 350Z for exterior looks and performance.

The SC430 for interior looks, build quality, plush luxurious ride, resale value, reliability, and retractable hard-top.

Kind of silly to compare these vehicles, considering the SC costs $20k more than the Z. In this market segment, the main competitors with the SC are the SL500 and XLR.

Exactly, it's in two different categories, how heavy is the 350z Roadster ? that must be a lot heavier than the coupe. Performance numbers ?

I could never pay $60,000. for a TOYOTA engine. I dont care how great anyone says it is, to me it will always be a toyota.

🙂

The lexus is an overpriced shiney turd on wheels.

Bleck! :disgust:

350 roadster all the way. I don't even see how'd you compare the two.

They are two completely different cars, both philosophically and in terms of price.

The SC430 isn't at all my style, so I'd say the Z.

From a performance standpoint, 6.5 seconds is slow, yes. It's quite fast for a luxuxy car, but slow for performance. That is why the cars should not be compared.

Friend bought a 95 Black on black TT Supra Automatic, 76k miles for $12,000 in May. It does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and is basically a convertible when you take the targa top off. Leather seats, sits low, good build quality.

Nissan Maxima or Pontiac Grand Prix GTP does 0-60 in about 6.7/6.8 seconds...not to far behind that super expensive convertible.

Two different cars! The 350Z is a high-strung performance car compared to the SC430, which is a GT at best. I've read it's really too soft to be considered a real sports car.

350Z hands down. Obviously, it's less luxurious, but it's far cheaper, far sexier (IMO), and like GTAudiophile said, the Z is far more performance-oriented.

The Lexus looks like a pansy car. Something some over-the-hill dentist would drive in a last-ditch effort to get some skank ho.

I've seen some of these lexuses/lexi/lexus' around lately and I have to say they are right at the top with a scant couple of other cars for femininity. Along with the miata, vw bug, pt cruiser, these things are very womanly and not masculine _in the least_. If I was given one I'd drive it straight to a used car lot and trade it in for damn near anything. Ugly as SIN.

i'll take a 911 convertable plz ^^

btw, you must've been pretty bored to post this thread up today eh? still trying to figure out how you think they compare..

No one ever cross shops these two cars so I really want to know why anyone would ever be picking between the two.
