If you had practical uses for the extra features of nForce2, it could make sense now (Firewire, USB 2.0, good audio, wider CPU support, high OC'ability). Although I rather like the chipset, I don't know if you could justify it on a pure performance basis per dollar, though. So I voted for the Athlon 64.

I'm keeping an eye on Canterwood (mainly to see if it allows for multi adjustments) and the 200MHz P4's as my next potential upgrade. Otherwise it'll be a highly OC'able Barton that gives me a compelling reason to upgrade my 2100+. Athlon 64 is too far off and is gonna be too pricey at launch. Its gonna be an immature platform for a while as well, as DDR-II won't be available at launch (assuming Sept 03). Gonna let you suckas iron out the bugs and drive down platform/RAM costs :D

Since you don't have an option for the 845PE, I chose Canterwood. I did just finish building an AMD so now I'm moving back to Intel for something I can overclock nicely :) Of course by the time I get around to it, Canterwood might be out!
