I am having a difficulty to decide which one I want.
On one hand, I'm pretty sure I'll only use this portable hd on Windows 2000 and WinXP systems.

On other hand, maybe I want to use it on Linux machine also, that's why I needed it to be FAT32 to get compability.

Yea, but WHO actually uses Win 95/98/ME?

The OP didn't specify what OS('s) he'll be using 99% of the time. Probably a good bet it's all Win 2k or XP.

Using FAT32 nowadays is akin to buying a new motherboard with ISA slots. :)

Perhaps so, but no one I know. :)

Anyway, he wouldn't have started this thread if his main OS wasn't XP or some version of NT. Maybe he's got an XP box and a Win9x box, who knows? In that case FAT32 would make sense.

FAT32 nowadays is like realising there are more PC's out there than ones running Windows 2k/XP.

According to THIS, yes - if you're running Tiger. I don't own a Mac, (yet!) so I really don't know first-hand if that article is correct.

Fat32 so you don't have to deal with security and not having access to it on other machines.
