optimistic, I voted for Netgear because I once had trouble trying to setup a Linksys NIC on an AMD system. Once I replced the NIC w/ a Netgear FA311, and rebooted all was well. Hope this helps
I like both a lot. I have more linksys stuff though. Part of it is how netgear often has the rj45 ports on the front of their hubs/switches/etc. But netgear stuff cased in metal. Linksys stuff is all plastic. I dunno, linksys I guess...
If you're talking about a nic, whatever is the cheaper. For switches/routers, I prefer netgears. Personal preference really. I dont' think there is any significant performance difference between the two.
Netgear housings are nicer and more professional looking but I dont like the ports on front. Linksys looks more appealing but I dont like the cheap plastic casese.
