*poll* Netflix or Blockbuster?

I like blockbuster but that's because it's the only one I've used quite a bit...

it only takes 2 days for the dvd to get to my house and one day to get back to the distribution center

Netflix. I've had good luck with them and terrible luck with BB's B&M, so why switch?

If you meaning the online mail service I tried out both and nexflix for me is by far the victor. I received my movies much quicker, and their website is much more helpful.

Neither. Hollywood Video. 3 movies at a time, 15$ a month. Get off your ass and roll yourself outside fvcktard. A little goddam sunlight won't hurt you you lazy bastard. Plus turn around time is virtually nil.

Try both free trials and see which one you like better. Blockbuster for me is a lot slower than Netflix. And i like the friends feature on netflix, so i can keep up with what my friends are watching and rating.

P

After hearing of their "No more late fees" BS, I'm going to think twice before I give them any more of my business.

Netflix all the way.

Netflix.

At least where I live, the turnaround is 1 day. I mail it out in the morning, and I usually get my next video the next day.

That, and I believe that Blockbuster is the devil.

😀

I'm trying both right now. So far I like Blockbuster Online better. The selection is fine for me, and I like the two free in-store rentals a month. Plus it's cheaper. Turnaround time seems to be the same for both.

Some of us do get out of the house but live far enough away from a store that we prefer having movies mailed. I had Netflix for the past 2 years. I just canceled last week and switched to BB after being pretty happy with the free trial.

2 free in-store game rentals are worth $14. Since we just got an Xbox and my son has been renting a game every week or two, that makes the movie service basically cost 99 cents a month for me.

Netflix turnaround time was typically 5 or 6 days. 3 days to get there, 2 or 3 days to get back.
BB turnaround time has been 3-5 days. BB knows when you send back a movie from the post office scanning it. Apparently this is a YMMV thing. Some people say it doesn't happen for them, but it seems to be working for me. So when I mail back a movie, BB sends me another one the next day. Takes 2-4 days to get to me, so total of 3-5 days turnaround.

according to another post by someone here awhile back, blockbuster doesn't have "no late fees" at all locations -- only corporate ones. (some are privately owned or something?)

netflix is the way to go. but i don't do anything at the moment....

I like subtitles, Blockbuster only likes Jerry Bruckheimer.

I know BB has that reputation, and deservedly so, but have you really checked out the selection online? Supposedly, they have just as many titles as Netflix and they do carry subtitled foreign films. I'm not saying they compare, I haven't really looked into it. I'm just wondering if that is just an assumption being made by people based on the selection at their actual stores. I think it would be quite easy to have a much larger selection for the online service.
