Trying to gather some opinions from you guys. Can't really think of anything else but the Sony WEGA (24- or 27-incher). Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

The Toshiba cinema series looks good. I'll go the a B&M store and take a look at it. However, I am really tempted to get one of those perfect flat models. Anyone has experienced with one of those besides the WEGA? Thanks

If you can afford the Sony WEGA then get it. If you cannot then I would seriously consider the Toshiba.

I like my 27inch Samsung.
It's a lower dollar TV, but the pictures nice.

But if you're looking at Wega like stuff, take a look at the Zenith Inteq.
It's got a great picture, plus it's looks pretty similar to the wega (flat screen, heavy as a mofo 😛)

i have the same toshiba 27" and i love it. Great picture and sound.

Which year/model is yours? I forgot my model number but it was purchased June 2000.

Awesome picture, 2 tuner PIP, confusing-glow-in-the-dark remote!

new 27" trinitron... sister did not want to splurge for the wega.

um, i hate pregnant televisions.

this 27" trinitron is much less curved (it's vertically flat) than my 20" trinitron in my room.

My 27" Wega rocks.

🙂

If nothing else it was worth the $400 just to have a good excuse to watch movies with her in my room as opposed to upstairs in the living room.

:Q

Seriously, though, it's a gorgeous TV. It's the lowest of the 27" Wegas, but it's still SWEET. The only thing I wish it had that the upper models have is an automatic 16:9 squeeze. It's annoying to constantly have to turn that on when I watch a DVD, 'cause it turns off when the TV turns off.

I knew it was only a matter of time before the Sony WEGA zealots showed themselves. Although if I could go back in time I would have not purchased my 27" Toshiba for $499 waited until November 2000 and nabbed the 32" Sony WEGA for $690 shipped from 800.com

I'm surprised no Panasonic lovers have chimed in yet. Ding ding! Check them out if you can, gotta love the picture quality on those SF tubes.

virtuamike - I considered Panasonic when I bought my 27" but all the reviews, word of mouth and the a/v dealer all said check out the Toshiba and I have been in love with it so far. Panasonic does make great VCR's and DVD Players though.
