Rev limiter is bypassed when downshifting.

And I don't see how you can miss a 6-4.
Push stick up, let it naturally position itself into N, then pull straight down.

It should still cut off the fuel supply and let your engine survive long enough to get below redline. If it got disabled by an ECU flash or other more ghetto-riceboy methods, it'll just keep feeding the engine - which by my rough (read - "bullsh!t") numbers for an RSX would be spinning at ~14Krpm :p

yeah, but once you mate the tranny freely spinning at 110 to the flywheel that motor gonna go to 14K and go boom.

I'm not BSing. buddies got the bill to prove it.

We just gotta find that video. Its classic.

<---guilty of blowing a few motors as well.

True that. Fuel cutoff only does so much. :)

If I ever blow a motor, I'm hoping it'll be something with a little more mustard than a botched shift. Overzealous application of forced induction and nitrous oxide, now there's a story. :)

"I seriously thought my D-series block could handle 12psi and a 75 direct-port shot ... even though it was a $100 car I bought from the scrapyard ..."
