Poll: MP3 vs WMA ?

just wonder cos, i cant find any article that do research on this topic currently.😕

MP3?? that's been out for a long time, do you meen MP4? Cus Mp4 is already out to, it's for movies format though, and WMA, never heard of it.

never heard of WMA? its microsofts version of mp3....windows media audio i beleive....same mp3 quality although it compresses smaller than mp3

i prefer mp3.

Mp3, not because it is better technology but because it has been out and there is no way wma will become mainstream.

WMA is better when you want smaller file sizes, mp3 is better at 128bps or something like that. MP3 has players and is more mainstream, but if you want higher compression with almost as good quality wma is good.

MP3 using the LAME codec and it's vast switch options completely mop the floor with anything MS has to offer 🙂

Here's a link to a test done by Sound and Vision Magazine. It only looks at Fraunhofer's mp3 codec at 128kbps (LAME is better, of course), but there are also other links to additional authoritative audio reviews and information.
