For some reason my fiancee has a severe issue with any mouthwash besides Listerine. She refuses to use anything but Listerine, hands down.

I was at Drug Emporiums going out of business sale like a month ago and they had like a freaking gallon of mouthwash for so cheap and I picked up Listerine to compare and it was the same stuff but for so much more. She refused to buy it because of the brand.

GRRR.

Whatever's in the cabinet, though since I"m doing the purchasing, it's usaully listerine. Of course, when you get the large sizes, there are long intervals between purchases :).

Go to any store and pick up a bottle of Listerine and read the ingredients. Now pick up a bottle of the store's generic brand mouthwash and read the ingredients.

Yep, you guessed it... exactly the same. I can't even tell the difference in taste. And the generic is usually 25-50% cheaper.

Unlike some generic brands (like Equate), the company that produces Listerine does not actually produce the Generic brand (there's a statement under the ingredients part on Listerine mouthwash). Therefore, they're not actually the same stuff, whereas the stuff inside Equate skin cleansers for example, is just rebadged Cetaphil product. Hope that makes sense. Anyhoo, that's why I use Listerine since the methods of production for the generic brands are supposedly very different from that of Listerine, resulting in a product with the same ingredient that is yet somehow different from the "real" LIsterine.

Listerine. The green stuff (yellow tastes like gasoline). You can use other stuff, like Scope, but I think Listerine is the best. That burning sensation in your mouth (the top layers of your skin burning away) just has to mean those bad ol' bad breathe germs are biting the big one.

Anyway, I do use Listerine, I wouldn't bother with the rest.
