My friend have been telling me to go tubeless, but i'm not too sure about it. I don't feel that my riding is hard enough to warrant tubeless.

There is 1 trail that I want to go on, but my buddy tells me that there are a lot of thorns so i should get tubeless w/ sealant.

A mate of mine uses 'Stans no-tube' and swears by it. Heavy XC over all sorts of terrain yeilded no puntures either. Pretty cool stuff.

sounds like you don't really need it but if it saves rotating weight, go for it.

so you're saying ghetto tubeless is just as good? I don't think i need it too, but i would like to ride this trail. In a way i feel my friend might be over-exaggerating on the conditions, but who knows!

Yes, once you get it set up right it's just as good. Stan's might save you a couple grams but it's pretty much the exact same thing.

if you're curious about setting it up beyond that link, go to the bulletin boards of the web site and search for "ghetto tubeless"--there's a lot of discussion about it.

p.s. you can ride a gnarly trail with tubes too. if you flat a lot just get thicker tubes and tires with thicker sidewalls and a wire bead. of course that can add a lot of weight if you're not careful, though.
