It also exhibits the greatest reduction in performance over its life, resulting in significant oil consumption. Amsoil/Royal Purple/Elf are much more consistent throughout their life and dont tend to be consumed.
I have, in all the tests I have looked at, never ever ever read this. I have never seen a shred of evidence that gives one synthetic brand an edge over another. It is motor oil, not magic oil!
As for the rest of your post, if you are doing enough damage that all those parts need to be changed every 3000 miles, they shouldn't have been done to your car in the first place.
250HP/Liter? Come on buddy, with any respectable size engine you are claiming that your car makes ~750HP at the engine.
Also, if you do all of that, why would you not bother to install the iridium or platinum spark plugs.
Really? because there is no doubt that from every piece of evidence I see Mobil 1 does not maintain its viscosity rating over its life. All motor oil is not created equally, mobil 1 is not a true synthetic. This topic is hotly debated in Subaru communities as people like yourself say oil is oil and others claim that not all oil is created equal. I have seen reports from blackstone labs that notes that for Subaru motors, using mobil 1 tends to show elevated copper content. And surely countless experiences of significant oil consumption on mobil 1, then zero consumption on higher grade true sythetics are proof enough.
I dont even know how to respond to the remainder of your post. I apologize that I refuse to drive a generic slipper of a car. I enjoy experimenting with mechanical components (probably why I decided to become a Mechanical Engineer) and love working on my car. The assumption that anything is damaging my car is incorrect, the intervals myself and builder/tuner have selected mitigate that, and with any car making significant power (especially turbocharged) there is significant heat. Oil is a major method of heat extraction and heat breaks down the oil. As with any motor, stock or otherwise, changing your oil is an insurance policy, unless you do a monthly oil analysis you are left to guess. Synthetic or not I would never leave my oil in for longer than 6000miles on even the most sedate of vehicles.
You assume that I 'dont bother' to install parts that you think will be better... this is just further testiment to your lack of knowledge on the subject, which is further advanced by the fact that you continue to challenge me while not having a clue what I am running.

The Subaru forums? Really? Mobile1 is true synthetic - and I have seen 0 evidence to say that it is inferior to Amsoil or any other brand.

Granted - you can spend your money and enjoy your car how you choose to. It wasn't my place to criticise how you operate your vehicle.

I assure you I know more than enough to get by. I was just stating you claim to do all these modifications to your car, yet you go with a standard set of spark plugs - doesn't add up to me.

Following a lawsuit between Mobil and Castrol in 1997 that resulted in oils made from a non sythetic base product being allowed to be called synthetic, most major oil companies have switched to the much cheaper to produce Group 3 style synthetic. In my haste at work to find a source that you will believe I offer this https://www.mobiloil.com.........Base_Oils.aspx - while not conclusive proof, I will supply more when I get home.
As for the plugs, I cant run iridium or platinum. They are a severe source or pre-ignition on my motor (or presumably any with very high cylinder pressures)
