Poll: Metallic silver or red.

Picture of case

I'm going to be painting the case a metallic red, with the exception of the buttons that will be left a metallic silver, which is the basecoat for the red. What I've been debating on is painting the sideplates that hold the recepticles red to blend in, or leave them a silver color to stand out.

You should not have included the chartuse option. I think that will be the popular choice of the mischievous. I voted all red.

The chartuse option was for people with no opinion that just wanted to see the results. (I chose it to see the results w/o skewing it)

I put a 10/100 switch and external modem inside the case, it's easier to get to the wires and is cleaner this way. Think of the side of the case as a patch panel.

I think leave the whole case metallic red and paint those patch plates silver !
Now that would give it a nice pro look IMO.

The patch panels are what I was referring to in the poll. The case is the old clamshell style, and the plates are standard wallplates.

Well, they're going to be red. I sent it off to a family member that is better at painting than I am since the metalcast paint is VERY skill dependant. It yeilds a color much like red anodizing, the base coat leaves a color that looks like matte aluminum. The metal will have a clear coat sprayed on it to keep my main system from scratching it up too easily.
