I heard that there is a solution for improve awful memory benchmarks for this mobo, but i don't know how? Please help if u know?
I have two modules of 32 MB ram on 100MHz and one of 64 MB ram on 100MHz.

I believe the sub-par memory performance is typical with that Via chipset.

Be careful if you use any program that modifies registries, don't use them unless you know what you are doing.

balt: These are not items in the Windows Registry....these are hardware register bits where you set the flags for certain functionality.

hrky, most of the tweaks for your mobo can be found hereOC Aus P3V4X Forum, search for Beta 4 Way, and Wcpredit. Both will help, won't make it a BX but they will improve your memory perf.
good luck

sub par? maybe with the older bioses. but not now.

the P3V4X got the best memory performance of the via 133a's (mostly due to good bios thou, wpcredit can make the other via133a's just as fast).

it's about as fast as an 815. its bit slower than the BX133s. but wpcredit can make the gap miniscule.

Evil, is right. Initially the memory performance was significantly slower than the BX chipset motherboards, but within months later BIOS updates from Asus started to narrow the gap. Nowadays, it's very close. I have both a BX board (Abit BX6r2) and a Via board (Asus P3V4X) and the memory performance difference between them at 133MHz FSB speeds is pretty small. Playing around with H.Oda's programs, I was able to narrow the gap to just a few percent - which is pretty insignificant at a system level when the cache is going to catch most of the memory accesses.

I knew that program didn't make changes to the Windows registry, but it seemed like something not to mess with without a guide or knowledge.

When I was referring to the memory performance, I wasn't comparing it to that of other via133a chipsets. I was talking about the Via133A chipset as a whole (hence my use of the word chipset in my first post).

I don't think it's crazy to call the memory performance sub-par. After all, it IS less than the BX chipset.

Yes, yes, I know that the BX chipset has had much more time to be refined, but I don't find that to be a terrific excuse.
