remember, it's my wife's primary car so she's more concerned about looks/aesthetics...
so she's wanting to see what appeals more to other people.

i, on the other hand, would take power/handling/etc into consideration but I don't want to sway any votes so I'm mum on this.

Uh Oh! For the money of those 3-cars you have listed why not add in the SRT6 Roadster! Chrysler Crossfires are love it or hate it and your wifey might love it. I gurantee a SRT6 will get more stares than any other car listed. It is a rare auto with unfrickinbeleivable performance. It trounces all 3 listed in performance.

You will save a grip of money in buying one as well. $48K MSRP = $35K Discounted.

Lookin good!

Nah 😉

She's seen those but as you may have noticed she wants a german convertible.

Does she know the Crossfire is the exact same drivetrain as the MBZ? You get German engineering wrapped in Chrysler badging for a huge discount.

a tricked out civic would outperform any of those 'sports cars' just make sure you don't granny shift instead of double clutch glad i could help

You should look into the Crossfire further, Amplifier. The Crossfire, on the high end, is a beast.

Boxster. It's a true chick's car. The Z4 is ugly as hell and the Mercedes, while a good looking car, is starting to look dated. Porsches are timeless...even bastardized 911 knock-offs like the Boxster. 😉

ive heard it called the red-headed stepchild of the porsche family.

boxster, but preferably the boxster s.

missus can't drive stick so it will be narrower search.

the good thing though is that she doesn't mind looking into pre-owned S.

How can the SLK R171 look dated when it was released less than 2 years ago?

I hate the rear end of the Z4, so I gotta vote against it. I vastly prefer the Z8 or Z3. Granted, the Z3 is basically a BMW Miata...but the Miata's a good car! 🙂

Don't get a Porsche that's not a Carrera...basically, you're paying for the name (and paying even more for the repairs), so why would you cheap out and get something that even non-Porsche owners look down on?

M3 with SMG ftw! 😀 However, I doubt your wife would like the ride in the M3.

Things can "look" dated even when they're new...just take a look at Holdens.

I don't know if "starting to look dated" makes sense for a new model, though.

i will take the MB anyday.. cause 1 its a convertible hard top, useable boot and its fast.. and yes its pricey.

THe porsche is very very well balanced, but i will tell you right now, the MB is cheaper.

any chance the new audi TT will make it in there?

otherwise, tough battle.. the Z4 looks good from some angles, fugly from others... i'm gonna call toss-up

I brought it up and told her that I'd teach her to drive stick but she'd only look into it if it came automatic. Hence, the list is limited: automatic, european convertible (and only gunning for looks and not necessarily power & performance).
