POLL: Mapquest vs Yahoo Maps vs Streets n Tips vs Thomas Guide

I like Thomas Guides because you can take them with you but they are only available for a few places.

I mainly just use Yahoo! Maps.

Maybe i'm asking a dumb question but what is Thomas Guide?

Thomas Guide is a detailed printed map that is in book form. On the four sides there are page numbers indicating which page to turn to see a map for that direction. Until recently they were only available for Southern California.

I prefer Yahoo maps...mapquest ALWAYS gives me funky directions. sometimes yahoo maps does too but less than mapquest!

i like streets and trips full screen.

mapquest and yahoo (don't they use mapquest?) are too small. even when you use the big map option.

They've been available for Portland Metro and Seattle Metro areas for at least 10 years.
Thomas Guide is the shiznat... all i can say.

Mapquest has always worked for me. nik was swearing by yahoo maps, but when we used it, it told us to take exits that didn't exist.

Hell yea! Streets & Trips is awesome.
Yeah, but it's not free, right? The company I used to work for had a program that was really great. Don't remember the name. Anybody who wanted it on their workstation could install from the network. It was something like Streets 2000. I use Mapquest, but I'll try Yahoo maps. I usually get weird directions with Mapquest and I usually don't follow them. It's good for giving you an idea of what your trip is about, how long it's going to be, what are the main arteries, highways, etc. but the exact route is often stupid compared to the really best route. They probably use an algorithm that calculates the shortest distance and is unable to determine the EASIEST route.
