IMO, MadTV is more consistently funny.

SNL at its best blows Mad TV out of the water, but SNL is only at its best for 5-10 minutes a show (at least lately, anyways).

I saw a Bobby Lee comedy show a couple weeks ago. He was pretty dang funny and did some quite raunchy stuff. He got fully naked at one point and posed for a camera...

The writing talent on that show is horrendous, I don't know how they stay on the air.

SNL is way better than Mad TV. I've watched a few shows and I never laugh throughout it. It's so annoying and stupid IMO.

I agree with you.. MadTV is funny more of the time compared to SNL.. BUT when SNL is funny its way better than MadTV.

Now, old school SNL > *, but now...meh. I'd much rater watch MadTV now, however, I think my opinon is going to change soon. The Olsen twins episode was quite good, and who can deny the same for the Best of Christopher Walken.

comedy is at an all time low around the board.
but...SNL is the lesser of the two evils. they have a much shorter time to produce stuff, they have more talent and they have more they have to do.
madtv has many luxeries SNL doesnt and they still cant produce a polished sketch.

MadTV has the worst concepts for skits I have ever seen. They keep reusing unfunny, BAD ideas... like that one Stewart character. Writing is terrible, actors are annoying, it is completely NOT funny. Almost as bad as Kids in the Hall.

Been a fan of it for years, but lost a lot of interest with the last major cast change. I was really happy with Will Sasso, Debra Wilson, and Nicole Sullivan. I think they're all gone now except for Debra.

The problem with MadTV when I've watched it is the skits go on for far too long, well past the point where it is no longer funny.

MadTV is poor. How many years, in every single episode, have they had the exact same skits? Stuart, Mrs. Swan, over, and over, and over, and over. They were funny the first time, even very funny. They're OLD AND OVERDONE now.

When MadTV gets a new idea, a lot of the time it's really really funny. The music video parodies I particularly enjoy. New skits are rare, though.

esp. if you go back to the SNL golden days, sure it sucks now but Mad TV has always sucked
