Well I put the Rc5 client on my machine for the team on day 2 of the start. I think I was about in the first 20 or so. Quit rc5 earlier this year and am now doing SETI.

I've been around a while ;) ,but others have been here much longer.

I don't know about the RC5 team (though Lord Demios/TMR,BK,Mika & Virge have been around for a long time)

As far as SETI TA goes ,Hellburner,Mgallik,Curt Oien ,Danstp,ColinP,AVG/Binky,Polo,Robor,Rellik Remag (& probably more)have all been around longer than me (I joined Nov 7th '99).Mgallik was there at the beginning of TA SETI(5/99) ,as was AVG I think.

There were also others who were there at the beggining but I haven't seen them about in a longtime & they have gone flatline ,eg Ragman :(

NWM is a newbie from early 2000! ;) hehe

I think Bleep has me beat. I messed the client day 1; but I also got a brand-spankin new 8MB V2 at the time, so I really didn't actually "start" until day 5.

I have been cracking RC5 for 914 days. Well, technically the Phantom Flusher:| has been cracking for a long time using my RC5 email addy. I submitted my first 9 blocks back on June 23, 1999.

I moved my home and work herd over to TWTA after it looked like the Phantom Flusher:| was here to stay, and dnet had no ruling on it. The Phantom Flusher:| still submits about 3,400 WUs a day under my old address. :|

But while I've been around for a bit, there are others that have been around a lot longer than I have. :)

Ray,

We are pretty close. I belive my official start day was June 21st 1999 with the TeAm. I did crack a few blocks starting Dec 18, 1998 under my old e-mail addy , but that has never been credited to the team.

Damn you oldtimers, I'm just barely near to my 800th day..

Good going everyone, imagine it's been 3 years now and we're still here, doing things. ;)

Helluv a question to which it's tough to find an answer, if not impossible. When I joined TA SETI there was less than 200 members. Mgallik is the one who recruited me and taught me how to properly run SETI. Mark is pretty quite around here anymore. :( ...but he still submits wu's. :)

Assim1 - Were you on the TeAm before me? I don't remember you being around in the old days.

I dunno what date I joined TA. According to the SETI@Home page I've been doing SETI since May 19, 1999. I joined TA shortly after starting the project so my guess would be mid 1999. What's important is at the time we were floating in the 35-40 range among club teams and now we're 9th in club teams and 15th in overall teams. Not too bad, eh?

Oh yes, I started before you:p ,and guess what ,I was in that thread that you 1st 'talked' about SETI & Mgallik 'chatted' with ya;) ,I replied to you then too!:p:D
It's funny though because I did used to post a lot then ,I did a search for old 'Daily team stats' but it seems nothing exists before July 2000 anymore:( ,it's a shame because most of the old threads were still about from the early days.If you or anyone are interested I have saved quite a few of some of the early threads (including the one I joined) ,I could send them to you & you could host them(?) ,it's fasanating to see how far we've come since then:)

Actually I would say I must of joined TA just after you because I do remember WAY back that you were a very vocal, helpful recruiter back then (as now!) and you convinced me to join.
For a VERY short time there we had almost the same stats...then you left me in the dust! :)

lol ,that must of been sometime ago as I don't remember & I hadn't recorded it!.

Glad to hear that I was helpful to you:)
Unfortunatly I don't get as much time to go around the forums anymore ,so my recruiting level has dropped off:eek::(...........but then I do have a nice girlfriend now:)

re stats ,maybe you should start assimilating then;)

And you are right, relationships and family are far more important than Seti. I just need to convince my better half that she really does need 3 computers (or a rack) in the house :D (.../ducks as the wife chucks the remote) :)

LMAO :D
I'm loaning a PC to my girlfriend ,it's not much a Pentium MMX 233@266 with 64Mb SDRAM ,but it's a helluva lot better than her 486/66 with 8Mb RAM!:disgust: ,of course she'll be running SETI for me;)

Whoops ,we seem to of gone a bit OT!.
Btw you don't know what happened to Ragman do you? ,he was our 1 time No1 big gun a few yrs back ,he went flatline in November 2000 :(

So any other old members out there?

If you want to talk about "old" members, Assimilator1, there were the guys that more or less founded TA; Becks, Jackal, and the original tech-head, Amok.:)

Heh. Thats what I first started here. But not DC. Just the forums in general. About 4 or 5 months before the new Fusetalk forums. Talk about old times...
