I'd prefer real if I'm going to have one, but my girlfriend is allergic, so we get fake.

I've had a real tree with an old train set that ran around the tree since I was a kid. It was great when I was a kid, but those damn needles are a pain in the butt, and that old train is greasy as hell. So I prefer a fake tree any day. So what if you don't get the smell, you also don't get the chemicals they throw in the tree :p

Live all the way.

We make a whole experience out of it. Every year we go out to a different Christmas tree farm outside of town and cut down our own. Good Christmas fun.

FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE. Real cost too much money and i dont' see a point in them. The fake ones look just as nice, and you can reuse them for next year, and the next year, and the next year, and the next year . . . . .

We've had "real" trees for the past 17 years. Finally, last year, we found a very nice looking artificial tree - and that's what we purchased. I don't miss having the real tree at all -- but, I do miss the pine smell. Fortunately, we can use some real greens in our house to decorate for the holidays - and add that much-needed pine smell.

I like fake - they always look better, although I wouldn't mind owning a real tree ;)

Real trees are like $25. Decent fake ones are like $200. So after 8 years you're making your money back.. But by then you probably need a new tree anyway. heh.

Unless your'e one of those crazy people that goes out and spends like $80 on a freaking tree. Now that's retarded.

Where is the poll?!
Anyway, fake. I'm lazy so less cleanup and I don't ahve to buy every year. Maybe it'll change when I have a family.

there is no such thing as Fake trees.

Artificial Trees all the way.
It is horrible to drive by all those lots selling real XMas trees. They have taken so long to grow ..only to be chopped down, have silly stuff hung on them, then either be thrown to the curb or burned. It is wrong.

Aritficial tress are reusable, and if it is the aroma that is appealing, ... there is a can of spray that smells like the trees.

edit: when I lived in England, we had a tree in a pot. At Christmas, we brought it in the house, pot and all and decorated it, after XMas, it went back outside. ;)

Real please. You can't match the experience of cutting it down when you're a kid, getting sap all over your hands, and the smell.

You know those baby Christmas trees that you get when you buy a big one? Well one of them actually survived, and it's HUGE. It's in my backyard. I'll get a picture of it later.

Uhh... real costs too much? I paid $25 bucks for a perfect 7' Noble that I selected and cut down myself right at the farm.

For appopin, it was "live" when I first saw it ;)

edit: btw, real Christmas trees are usually harvested after 10 years. The coal and petroleum your artificial tree was made out of took millions of years.
And yeah, I bet a real Douglas Fir would look huge down in Irvine ;)

A good quality pre lighted fake tree is what I prefer, and have. Real trees are a mess and a fire hazard.

Man, unless you're allergic, you've got to have a real tree.

Go to the farm, pick one out, cut it down, bring it home...

It's great.

Live. Screw that fake garbage. The holiday has already become fake enough without me adding to it. Besides, what about the great scent you miss out on with a fake tree?
