POLL: listening to music at workplace

I work at Papa Johns - we just blair the radio when cutomers aren't in the lobby or on the phones 🙂

"I was told that I could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven, I told Bill that if Sandra is going to listen to her headphones while she's filing then I should be able to listen to the radio while I'm collating so I don't see why I should have to turn down the radio because I enjoy listening at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven."

earphones

I am using earphones now, but I am concerned it's rude when people try to talk to you and see you're on earphones. I think I might switch to speakers.

When I worked as a video store clerk, I used to listen to death metal on speakers attached to PoS computer while processing rentals. No one complained, although some folks asked me if I can actually enjoy that stuff.

i work in one big room with no privacy walls or anything, just desks, and there are 5 of us. One person has her radio on and it annoys the hell out of me. Use headphones!

i dont listen to music because i work all over the building and dont want to drag around a cd or mp3 player

other people have either a radio or somethign with headphones. boss doesnt care as long as you cant hear it in the call area where the customers are so theres a steady mix of blues, jazz, jam, rap, hip hop, r&b, gospel and pop as you walk through the place

Currently, no music at work, share an office with the Finance controller.

When I get new office/server room built (which they're starting work on next week...aparantly) then I shall probably have some music on in there via speakers 🙂

Confused

Use speakers, have to be able to hear if the phone rings, plus I sit in our test server room with two other guys that all like the same music so it works out anways.

headphones, and I listen to them a little too loud. A little tip, comedy CDs are great for passing time.

Mitch Headberg and Eddie Izzard are two of my favorites.

headphones for anything playing over the 'net (plugged into dock)

3 peice HK speakers plugged into Dell Jukebox for normal use. I keep the sound pretty low to avoid disturbing my cubie neighbors

:music:Oooohweeeooooh I look just like buddy holly...:music:
