I've gone back to bar soap in the shower because liquid stuff is full of teeny plastics and all sorts of other shit, and bar soap is pauper cheap.
They banned the microplastics in body wash fairly quickly once the news came out.

Bar soap because urinal cakes are free for the taking.
Never seen those in urinals, but I sometimes take the comps from hotels. I also don't throw away the bars of regular sized (for me, Ivory) when they wear down to where they are nearing uselessness in the shower. I save them and put a dozen or so together in a small ceramic cup and put that in the microwave for 20 seconds or so. They get soft and frothy. A little force and they congeal into a new large bar of soap! I heard about this somewhere, and it works.

Liquid for both handwashing and shower.

I cannot believe that there is a 7 minute video about this. Who the fuck needs a YouTube video to choose how to wash?

That's good to know. I never knew about that. I use some lavender stuff in the big pump bottle, dunno who makes it though. It smells good, and I've been complimented on smelling good before, so it works for me. :kissingcat:

I was in the examining room waiting for my doctor one day some months ago and noticed a thing they had on the wall, evidently for the edification of hospital personnel. It was an elaborate, many paneled graphic on how to properly wash your hands ... for those who work in a hospital setting. I thought this fascinating and educational. Nobody had ever shown or explained to me AFAIK exactly how to wash my hands. This thing was extensive and amazing. I took a shot of it with my cell phone. I often do a seriously better job washing my hands now, if I take the time to do it thoroughly. I doubt I do it as thoroughly as that set of graphic panels described, but I have incorporated some extra things.

It rinses cleaner. Less drying on the skin. A nylon-mesh pouf is the ideal applicator. Applying liquid soap with a washcloth somehow requires more soap - and is less foamy.

In the shower, liquid (I just buy a big bottle of shampoo + conditioner and then use that as body wash as well). For handwashing bar soap all the way. Liquid soaps dry my hands out really badly for some reason.
