and by "recent years" you mean "ever"

then ... yes.

If we're talking about ever, well....

Winger ? Linkin park

LP has NOTHING on Winger. Plain and simple.

Sorry dude...

Seventeen > anything Linkin PArk has done

Agreed.

Hybrid theory is too, and although it took me a while to get into reanimation properly I consider it a worthy addition (though the lesser of the three). I know some people hate linkin park, but these guys can really through together some shizizdizzy!

aw hell no. Hybrid Theory is a ok CD, but I after I went through my whinny emo phase, I decided they aren't that great. I don't like the rap-rock fusion that much either. They are one of the more overrated bands, IMHO

Their rap-rock infusion is evolutionary--dare I say revolutionary, even--and a refreshing change away from the more generic sounds of our time.

Um...Oasis? The Killers? Dashboard Confessional? Jimmy Eat World?

If it's pop-radio music you like, there are MUCH better choices than Linkin Park.

wow. more whinny music, half of the them emo...

They're ok, they didn't revolutionize music in any way so they become just one in the crowd.

If by "one of the best" you mean in my top 10, and "recent years" as the last 5 years, then they are there for sure. They are not my favorite group, and they could use a little more diversity in their music, but they are still good.

what? I thought both album was about the same, I actually like Meteora alot more.
of course, then there's the Re-animated Hybrid Theory, which was awesome too.

Collision Course was alright however. (heck, it only got 6 songs)

I never get this response. Because they are overplayed now, they are no longer good? I know you didn't exactly say that, but that's sort of what was implied.

I may tire of a band if I hear a song over and over again but I still like the song.

Audioslave, Nickelback , Mudvayne, Soil and Velvet Revolver quickly come to mind.....

I thought this was a Skoorb'ing at first. I searched through the archives and found several posts over the last year or so with Skoorb praising Linkin Park. Either Skoorb is actually serious or this has been the most elaborate Skoorb effect of all time.

For the record, I own the last three Linkin Park albums and like them all to varying degree.

They had one single on their first CD I liked, but their style is so formulaic, and it's a formula I get tired of very quickly.

Rap-rock is a fad that's died a quick and deserving death.

... How could anybody say Linkin Park are one of the best groups in recent years is beyond my comprehension ...
